Tiger wins British Open
I'm a huge Tiger Woods fan. Love watching him play, really love watching him win, really, REALLY love watching him win a Major. It was great to watch him win his 11th Major on Sunday. What wasn't so great was becoming uncomfortable watching his personal space invaded as he wept first in the arms of his caddy and then in the arms of his wife as he realized that his father didn't get to see this Major win and never will again. Everyone who knows about Tiger Woods and his golfing success, knows about his close bond with his father. Tiger's dad died this past May after a long battle with cancer. In his first Major after the death (the US Open) Tiger didn't even make the cut to play the last two days of the tournament...something that rarely happens. Grief seemed to be a factor. This weekend was a different story. He played well and won. And then it all sunk in. Cameras followed him (as they always do) off the course and to the clubhouse. Tiger was in tears the whole way after first breaking down while hugging his caddy on the 18th green. When he got to his wife, he layed his head on her shoulder and sobbed...for several minutes...with a camera about a foot away, recording every second. I was screaming at the television cameraman (as if he could hear me), "Dude! You've got the shot! Give him some space! Jeez!!"  I understand that Tiger is a professional and that part of his golf career and fame involves having cameras around, especially in a tournament like this. However, the filming of Tiger in tears (that close) seemed too much.
