The Ultimate Ultimate Challenge Has anyone else heard of this show? I caught the call for auditions in the local paper and really wanted to try out, but had already missed them! The description of the show seems intense--maybe even more than Fear Factor. Wish I could have been on it!

I hadn't heard of the show yet. It says it's a new reality show hosted by George Gray of the Weakest Link. They're looking for men and women for a one week shoot on a Caribbean Island. Here's a link to the official website for anyone interested:

I thought it was supposed to be more like Survivor -- didn't that girl that got hospitalized on it end up getting hurt because one of the other contestants got too competitive during one of the challenges? It sounds like the only Fear Factor-ish part of the show is maybe some grossout stuff. Who knows though... I'm kinda curious to see the pilot if it ever gets on the air.

Yeah right, grossout stuff. Like asking the casting call auditioners if they'd eat a human toe?? But I doubt they'll get more "ultimate ultimate" than Fear Factor. Besides, that whole suck-it-up and swallow-the-nasty gag's gotten old.

I never did care for the food challenges on Fear Factor. It takes the same effort to swallow ounce of substance A and one ounce of Substance B. The difference is all in a person's mind. I prefer challenges that take some strategy or skill to win over food challenges.
