The Rave Thread I figured we have a rant thread, we should have one for good stuff too like there is at RTVP right? Because not everyone feels comfortable starting a whole new thread when something goes their way, but it's still fun to share!
Like today, I was getting discouraged because I didn't know if I'd be able to find a job for the summer. I faxed my resume to this trampoline gym place for a front desk manager and they called me right away! It's 40 hours a week at $12/hour! She said that she was just wondering though how I could work f/t when I am going back to school in September (my main concern about getting hired) and I said I was hoping maybe there would be something available p/t then. She said that's possible and she was impressed with my resume so she wants me to come in for an interview on Tuesday!
I am really crossing my fingers for this because we could use the extra money. Plus, I was figuring out my schedule for next year, and it is possible that I can fit all my classes in two long days, which would leave one day to volunteer at a school, and two days I could work all day during the day!

That's great news, Rubini! Sounds like you have it all figured out. It's good to plan ahead and get things in order as much as you can.
I'd still like to get a new job but it probably won't happen until the new fiscal year starts in July. Most places aren't hiring new help until then and some even start letting people go due to lack of funds.
Good luck on your interview!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to you. I bet you'll ace the interview.

Hurray Ruca!!! I hope it works out!
My rave for the day ..... ummmmm ..... don't really have one, but I do make the best ever healthy lowfat muffins! And healthy lowfat cookies. Yup, just had some of both.
Hey, we should try a favourite recipe thread?
bookie- 04-07-2005
I think the recipe thread is a great idea. I'm always, always looking for things that are easy to make after work. Things that you might actually have the ingredients in your cupboard...or at least ones that you of
See you did have a good day.

Well, I'm really happy because I have an awesome lawyer.

I'm loving the name, Rubini. "Rant & Rave" threads...why didn't someone think of this sooner?
As my first rave, I will share that my state income tax return came in while we were on vacation. It's always good to come home to unexpected money!

Something to rave about recently...I came home from the convention with 22 new textbooks and other books for my classroom but I only had to pay for 4 thanks to publishers giving them to me as preview copies. It made for an extra bag to check at the airport but, fortunately, all the convention attendees were given a totebag with the convention slogan printed on it. YEA!!!!

I need to rant again about my wonderful job!!~
I LOVE, LOVE, everything about it. From the high pay, to the great Manager, and 3 of the girls and I are becoming close friends.
Then, not to mention how easy is it, to please a man with his hair.
Although, the girls say that my cleavage helps.
I like to say, it`s because I do an awesome job cutting their hair. They could be right though, today my tips were pretty good!!!

I took my truck to a transmission specialist today 'cuz the garage that looked at it last week said I had transmission problems, not engine problems.
I have had transmissions put into 2 different cars in the past, so I expected to be out $1500 to $2000 on this one.
The shop owner calls me a little bit ago and says that there is a transmission issue, but that it will not require a new or rebuilt transmission; only a few parts and some servicing that will cost approximately $300!
That makes me say woohoo!

I got to sleep in this weekend (doesn't happen often!)...Woo Hoo!!

Re: Rave Thread I want to rave about the wonderful job I did on cleaning our bathrooms this afternoon while I had the day off from work. They are so clean you could eat off the toilet if you wanted to do so... not that I'd recommend it or anything.

I'll take your word for it, but I think I'll pass.
Since you did such a wonderful job at your house....you can always come and do mine!

Re: Rave Thread Because of my inability to use a map and find people's houses, I won't be offering my cleaning services to anyone here on the island. Sorry, Missy.
And just so I don't get thrown in jail for getting off topic:
I want to rave about the fact that I made a mean dish of macaroni and cheese this evening. It was delicious. My kids ate every single bite of it, which is quite an accomplishment for them... and says alot about my cooking skills.
I love to toot my own horn. Toot, toot, toot!
Missy- 04-12-2005
K... guess I should get on topic as well.
I got a new van!!!! Well, new to me, but a van!!! YAY!! We have been a one car family for quite some time now. It is so nice not to feel like a prisoner on my home anymore! If I want something from the store I can FINALLY get it myself instead of calling around trying to get someone to run the errand for me.
So, that is my happy news!
