I got my music downloading abilities back! Thanks to someone who made a thread about Limewire on RTVP. Id never heard of it, but thought Id give it a shot. Since my crash, neither kaaza or Winmx would connect. Limewire works like a peach! Yea!!!!!!! Thank you whoever made that post! (kosgirl ...or ...Scrtprncs??)

I just saved a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to Geico! Not really. I just wanted to say that. I did, however, get a 93 on my recent Microbiology test so I have something to celebrate!

I don't know that this quite qualifies as a rave but it made me happy. One of my students who dropped out of school about a year ago came by for a visit today. He had stopped by school with his father (don't know why, maybe regarding one of his siblings) and he insisted on visiting me before they left the school. It was very nice to see him. He really wants to come back to school...but he also likes having a truck and cell phone and can't afford them if he quits his job to come back to school. My associate talked to him about GED possibilities. He's a nice kid and certainly smart enough to get a high school diploma so I hope that one way or another he does so.

That was nice of that kid to come back and visit you. I hope he does decide to get a GED.

I have things to rave about today, too. I'm not just on a rant tirade. I recently started a new messageboard. This one is specifically to meet people in my local area. I don't know how well it's going to do. I was looking to join a Tallahassee messageboard but the few I found had very few members and most had had no activity since 2004 so I decided to start my own forum. I think I may advertise it in some of local papers, like the college newsletters. I put it in Google search and I'm considering listing it with Sirlinksalot. I really hope this works. It would be great to be able to start a movie club or book club and get to know people in my area.

That sounds cool Pika, its an interesting way to meet people.. I would think advertising in the local paper would be the best way to get people to check out your message board. It is probably expensive but people are more likely to see it. You might also want to think about putting an ad on community bulletin boards that you find in grocery stores and such...you've seen those things people put up looking for babysitters and whatnot with the phone number on strips of paper. Do that too.

What a great idea Pika. The community bulletin boards Pepette mentioned are a great idea.
