The Behind-The-Scenes Episodes
I really enjoyed this week's Monday show. It was interesting to see all the behind-the-scenes stuff that goes on in the house. I enjoyed watching them practice with the house band and trying to decided how to sing their songs. The song selection process is a mess, I think it's purposely done this way to create possible tension between the rockers. I hope all the Monday episodes are this interesting and informative. Here is another area where American Idol can learn from. A 30 minute episode each week following the contestants in the house would shed some light on those that have very little personality on stage... which is something Simon is always talking about each season. Wouldn't we all just love to have seen what Scott Salvo was like in the mansion? :wink:

Due to low ratings, the 30-minute Monday episodes have been eliminated from CBS' Monday lineup and will now air on VH-1 instead. Ugh. I don't have cable. :sad:

Re: Song Selection
Song selection is worked out between the contestants. There are always the same amount of songs as performers posted on the wall. And it's up to the contestants to work it out between themselves as to who gets what. Amazingly, there hasn't been any physical fights over songs. The song selection part has never been shown in all that much detail. I think it pretty much is the contestants saying to each other "so what song would be your #1 pick?" and so on.
