Swearing on the Bible
The other night, I thought it was funny that Beau tried to keep the Bible away from James and that the only reason James wanted the Bible was so he could make his promise to Ivette more believable. Why is the Bible even there, again? Did someone bring it with them, or does BB supply it?

I think it was Beau's Bible. It's funny/sad to me when contestants bring their Bibles onto reality shows and then act totally out of character with it. Like refusing to let James use it (even though James' reason for wanting it was insincere and shallow). That whole scene with James swearing on the Bible and then Ivette complaining to the others that James broke is promise that he swore on the Bible was cheap and meaningless overdramatics to me. I doubt if anyone in that house has any sincere respect for the Bible and what it teaches, and to use it as a strategic tool is just ugly.

The only one I ever seen read that Bible and seem sincere about it was Rachel. Janelle looks at it like its written in Latin. I think she just stares at the words and turns the pages now and then.

Re: Swearing On The Bible
Haven't these people learned from the past that you never, ever swear on the Bible if you intend on going back on your promise? Nor do you swear on the life of your children, family, etc.

If people didn't lie when they swear on the Bible, there wouldn't be any reason for perjury laws. Heh.
