Surviving the Early Show: Lisi’s Interview Surviving the Early Show: Lisi’s Interview

After being booted from Survivor: Fiji Thursday night, Lisi visited The Early Show Friday morning. What did she have to say for herself? Did she want to go? Why did the secret scene involve clucking?
Hannah Storm is doing this week’s Survivor cast-off interview. She introduces the segment by noting that “the hard-luck Ravu” had to vote out somebody else. “Lisi volunteered to go, but then she put up a fight to stay.” We see a clip of Thursday night’s Tribal Council, when Lisi claimed Dreamz had given up in the middle of a challenge, but wouldn’t provide an example.
Lisi joins Hannah in the studio and Hannah immediately asks, “Did you want to go?” Lisi emphatically nods and says, “Yeah!” She had told everybody she was out of there. She says she reached that point because she was exhausted and started wondering why she was doing this. She realized, “I don’t have to.”
So why did she want to do it in the first place? What changed? Wow, actually a decent question. Lisi says she did it for Andy Warhol – the few minutes of fame and putting herself to the test to see what she could do. It was a challenge, a test of her strength and character. Um. It seems to me that if this is the case, Lisi failed.
How tough was it for Lisi, who is “a girl who wears sparkly boots” (which she shows off)? Lisi doesn’t get a chance to answer, because Hannah keeps on going, saying she was roughing it, sleeping on palm fronds, etc. Lisi says she was fortunate to be on Moto as long as she was, because it really sheltered her from the reality of the show. She says she was coasting and figured it was cute, not so survivorish. Then all of a sudden, things went downhill and she wanted to go.
Was Exile Island a horrible experience? Lisi says the storm was terrible, but at least she got water – she was so afraid of the snakes that she never left the tower, so she couldn’t start a fire to boil water.
Hannah asks if Lisi knew what was going on with the idol digging while she was sleeping. Lisi says it’s kind of funny because she told them where to dig, but she claims she wasn’t really fast asleep and knew they were digging there. She just waited for them to finish. This doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, given that she told me in my interview with her that she had no idea they found the idol. So she just thought they were digging and then covered up the hole? It sounds to me like she’s trying to cover up things she didn’t like.
Hannah asks about how Lisi called her tribemates losers, and Lisi says, “yeah, they kind of were.” All that muscle, but for what? That leads to the secret scene.
We are at Ravu camp and Lisi is apparently making noises with her mouth. Mookie asks why she’s doing it and she says because she feels like it. Mookie tells us she whistles and makes chicken-like clucking noises – you just don’t want to hear it, it’s annoying. She doesn’t care about annoying other people, so it’s time to get her out of there and it will be all guys again.
So what was up with the noises? Did she do it to annoy them? She says it’s a tension-breaker – she’s been clucking for a long time. Ooookay. But when she saw that Mookie was really getting irritated by it, she was like, “Oooh, green light!” So she clucked even more and he would get even nuttier.
Was there anything good that came out of this? Lisi says weighing the negatives and positives, there were barely any negatives and it was a great experience.
