Rank the girls' performances (2/21/06)
I had a hard time initially ranking the girls because I liked some of their voices better but hated the performance by some so I decided to make two rankings--one by voice (how good they sounded, how much range they showed, how much control they had of their voice) and one by performance (how interesting they were to watch, how comfortable they appeared in front of a crowd, etc). 1. Paris- I LOVE HER! She is so amazing for 17. 2. Lisa- Again, young talent. I thought she was just a fraction behind Paris. 3. Mandisa- Such a powerhouse singer. It could be a black girl final 3LOL 4. Katharine- She's good but I don't see the big deal about her. I think the Paris and Lisa, most definitely, are more talented. 5. Ayla- She definitely surprised me. Based on that, I would put her in the final 12! Now it gets hard because from here, they were so mediocre to me. 6. Becky- I thought she did a good job. 7. Kinnik- I thought her song was safe, but she did a good job. If she pulls it up, she could get to top 12. 8. Melissa- Good, but I wouldn't put her near the front runners. 9. Pick Pickler LOL! She was good but she has a lot of pitchy notes. I know its nerves and we have seen great things in the past from her. I want her in the final 12. She might go there based on her personality alone. I loved her story about her grandfather!!!! 10. Brenna- Get off the stage and get over yourself... definitely bottom 3, if not going home! 11. Heather- Don't try and outdo Vonzell! That was not the right song. She could be going home because of it. 12. Stevie- She scares me, she isn't good, and she is a 100% guarantee to go home Thursday. Thanks for coming out!
