"Sweetheart, I Have to Confess" (10/29/06) Edie
Mary Alice starts by telling us that confession is good for the soul. She says Edie has been confessing weekly since she was a child and Father Omali would tell her to go out into the world and sin no more but temptation was everywhere.
Edie went to visit Mike and he asked how close they were. She said their houses were 50 ft apart and it was nothing more than "hello's" and just another neighbor relationship. He asked why she was always visiting him then and she told him the moment she laid eyes on him she fell in love with him. She said when they get back home and happen to check their mailboxes if he could just look at her, he said "I'm looking at you right now" and they kissed.
Mary Alice said "Yes, it is often said that confession is good for the soul"
and we see Edie in confession saying she and Mike kissed and then Mary Alice says "But some confessions are just bragging in disguise".
The investigators went to see Mike at the hospital and showed him a pic of Monique and asked if he knew her. He didn't. Edie said his memory wasn't all there and the investigators thought "How convenient". They asked Mike if he had once killed a cop and Mike said yes for self defense and they asked if he was sure it wasn't beginner's luck. They were rude and he answered them rude.
Susan
Susan was walking home and saw Ian knocking at her door, she hid next to her car but Mrs. McClusky saw her and rattled her out.
Ian was bringing Susan an invitation to a party he was having and said she could bring a date. He asked about Mike and asked about Edie too. She told him "Edie visits Mike after her hepatitis C treatment"
Later she went to bring flowers to Mike and the nurse saw her pass and told the other nurse that Mike asked not to be disturbed. Susan went in the room and opened the curtain and Mike and Edie were having sex. Susan freaked and left.
She went home and Lynnette was outside her place and invited Susan over for a drink. Gabby was jogging by the house and joined them for a drink too. They were all quite drunk reminiscing about stuff going on in their lives. A taxi driver stopped by the house to ask where 4347 was, looking for Ida Greenburg and Susan said she was Ida. She went to Ian's and shows up drunk. There were many people over as it was the party at his place. They were talking and Susan had to go throw up.
Later he had driven home and stayed there the night (on the sofa). When she got up she saw him and asked what happened the night before.
He told her she said a few things and wanted to know if it was Susan talking or the booze. He said "You said you missed me", she said it was Susan, he said "You said you made a mistake breaking up with me and you want to start again" she said Susan, he said "You said you want to dress me like a school boy and spank my naughty bottom" but he made that up so they laughed at that and then they kissed.
Gabby
Carlos and Gabby's lawyers were arguing and then finally Carlos said to give her what she wants. Gabby wasn't happy with that and told her lawyer that he had to be up to something because he doesn't fold easily.
Back home Gabby gets the mail and Carlos takes a yellow envelope out of her hand. He puts it in a drawer, locks it and takes the key and puts the key in his pocket. He said he was going to go sleep and she tells him to take a shower. While in the shower she gets the key and sees the papers he hid. She faxed them to her lawyer to read and found out it was a 2 million dollar job offer he had gotten. She asked the lawyer if she gets half and he said not if the divorce is final, no.
She asks Carlos to help her zip her dress but it was stuck (she did it with glue) so she takes the dress off and is in her lingerie. She asked Carlos to help her put her nylons on because her nail was chipped. He does and they start to kiss after flirting with each other. After sex, she tells him maybe they are making a mistake and they should stay together. He tells her how happy he is and then starts laughing. He tells her that he knows the only reason she slept with im is because of the 2 million dollar job offer, which he made up to get her into bed, knowing she would fall for it.
She gets real angry and calls him a bastard and he said "A bastard is better than a whore". He tells her he wants her to hurt and judging by the look on her face when she lost 2 million dollars, he succeeded.
He was putting his pants on and she pushed him out of the window.
Freaking out, she looks out and doesn't see him, she starts going downstairs and he walks in all scratched up and bleeding and says "Oh yeah..it's on".
Lynette
Tom shows Lynette the space he leased for his pizza place and Lynette thought it was a total mess. They argue that she promised to support his dreams and she says "My mistake, it's when I thought you'd have dreams worth supporting" so he tells her he is staying at the pizza place overnight.
Back home the kids ask Lynette about dad and she tells them they argued and he will spend the night at the pizza place. Kayla overhears this and calls Nora to tell her.
Nora goes to visit Tom and brings food with a bottle of wine. She is telling him there is an aura about him and how she believes in his success etc.. and she kisses him. He pushes her away and tells her he loves his wife. She says something along the lines of the wife who doesn't believe in you and he says "No, the one who keeps me from screwing up", he decides he will go home, he misses his wife.
In the meantime Lynnette was drinking with Gabby and Susan and talking about long relationships and how nice they are etc..a little drunk she tells the women she is a bitch with a capital C...lol and that she will support Tom.
He gets home and she's in the kitchen. He tells her something happened and he realizes she means the world to him, more than any restaurant ever could. Lynette tells him to open the pizza place and they will find a way to make it work. Tom says "God I love you" and they kiss and then Lynette asked what happened.
He tells her (but we don't see that part) and then we see Lynette kicking in Nora's door. She gets in the house and says "ding dong".
She is about to attack Nora and Kayla gets up. Lynette tells her to go to bed and Nora asks her to stay.
Lynette agrees to leave and says she'll just hug Nora. She puts her arms around her and says in her ear that her association with her family is over. She has to drop Kayla off a block away from her house and then says to stay far away from her husband or " I will do to your spine what I did to your front door. Nod if you understood" and Nora nods.
Bree
Carolyn shows up at Bree's door with her husband Harvey Bigsby. You can see the husband forced Carolyn to apologize to Bree and she does. Bree accepts and they make a dinner date.
When Bree closes the door she makes it clear to Orsen she is not going to forgive that easily.
Bree was at a golf luncheon and she noticed she was getting snubbed by many. She asked her friend why and was told it was because she didn't believe when Carolyn told her about Orsen killing his wife. Bree asks the friend if she believes it and the friend doesn't answer but you can see she believes it too. So Bree gets up and leaves and makes dinner reservations for Hodge/Brigsby.
At the dinner Carolyn asks Bree if she wants to go to the powder room with her. They go and Carolyn hands Bree pics of Orsen's wife with bruises all over and other marks to her body along with a police report the wife had filed after Orsen hit her. Bree was in shock.
Meanwhile Carolyn's husband confesses to Orsen that he had an affair with a woman, it was love at first sight, things were going so well and then she just disappeared. He tells Orsen her name was Monique and shows a picture and Orsen is shocked.
Later on Orsen calls the detectives and says : Jane Doe is Monique, before her death she had an affair with Harvey Brigsby" and he hangs up.
The detectives go to their house to question Harvey about it and Carolyn is watching out the window.
Mary Alice says
There's a place in St.Thomas church where sinners go to confess their sins
- we see a woman walking out of confession
and once they're done they expect absolution, but the truth is not all confessions are worthy of such forgiveness.
Most who unveil hidden agendas deserve the condemnation they receive.
-we see Nora sitting on her floor, thinking.
most who disclose vengeful motives merit the punishment that follows
-Carlos thinking...
only the truly repentant have any right at all to expect a second chance
-Susan and Ian lying in each others arms
Mike:"C'mon, what's the surprise?"
Edie walks in his room in a sexy nurse' outfit
Mike remembering Monique doing that and her saying "I thought you'd never get here"
which is why it's best to think twice before you confess
Edie: "Mike, what's wrong?"
Mike: "That girl who died...."
especially if you don't know what it is you're confessing to
Mike:"....I think I know her"
