"Listen To The Rain On The Roof" (09/24/06)
The show starts with Mary Alice telling us about a woman who wanted to leave her husband. She always put the groceries away the way he requested, picked up the dry cleaning, folded the towels right etc... but something inside her was broken and she had to leave. Then we see Orsen Hodge. He left for work and she started to pack up her clothes and took the parrot in his cage and was leaving. She tripped and the door of the cafe opened and the bird flew out. She was trying to get the bird back in the cage and Orsen had come back home (to change clothes, he noticed bird doo on his sleeve). He saw her bags and was not happy. The neighbor Carolyn Bigsby walked in to see his wife and he told her that she left and didn't know why. The parrot said "Orsen, no!!" and the neighbor looked curious. Mary Alice then said that he did not like to be contradicted by anyone, and then we saw an empty cage. Mary Alice said it didn't rain often but when it rained, it poured. She told us that 6 months ago this is what was happening with the women: Bree and Orsen went on their first date (the stuff with his wife was before that), Gabby was visiting with her divorce lawyer, Lynette was meeting Tom's illegitimate daughter, while resisting the urge to strangle the girls' mom, Susan learned of Mike's accident and Edie was putting up a for sale sign on Mary Alice' property. "Rain is necessary to make everything clean again, on a street like Wisteria Lane where everything can get so messy" Edie In the show, we see Edie trying to sell the house but every different person visiting it, there is something wrong, the family that wanted peacefulness saw a kids birthday party going on, Mrs.McClusky was telling someone else about the bodies that may be in the house and stuff like that. Susan Susan was visitng Mike in the hospital. He was in a coma. She was shaving his face. This other man Ian Hainsworth was also in the hospital visiting his wife who had been in a coma for months and he and Susan kept bumping into each other. They would buy each other coffee and would talk. He bought her a cheap watch because she was always running out in the hall to see what time it was. While talking to him in his wife's room, he asked her out on a date. Susan spilled her drink on the wife and covered her with a blanket so he wouldn't see, they went to go have a quick bite to eat. Next time she visited Mike she laid next to him and told him someone asked her on a date. She was telling Mike how she was lonely and how the past 6 months had been hard. She wanted to ask him if it was o.k for her to go out with this guy and was telling him to wake up if it wasn't. She kissed him and said she loved him and before leaving the room said "It really is just dinner" Lynette The Scavos were taking their Christmas picture and Kayla was there as was Nora. Lynette didn't want Nora in the picture and told her she'd prefer if she wasn't in it. Nora said if she can't be in it, Kayla couldn't either and Tom felt bad so he and Lynette agreed they'd put Nora on the end and crop the picture later. Just as the camera was about to take the pic, Nora threw herself down on the kids' lap making it so she was lying across all the kids. The camera snapped and you see Nora front and center and Lynette with her mouth open in shock looking down at Nora. It was Parker's birthday and they were having a party. Lynette invited Kayla over, but told Nora it was just for a quiet family gathering. Nora called during the party and heard all the noise. Lynette denied anything was going on. She knew Nora would show up so she sent all the kids and the decorations to the neighbor's house with Tom. She went back home to get the cake and Nora showed up. Asked where Kayla was and Lynette said Tom took the kids to the movies (but on the phone earlier she told Nora they were going for ice cream). Nora was sure she was lying but found no proof. Just as she was about to believe Lynette, a kid walked out with a party hat on and asked where everyone was. Nora found out about the party and went to get Kayla to take her home. Tom asked them both to stay and Lynette walked away. He went to see her and said he was doing it for his daughter. She told him that she has to put up with Nora and accept his illegitimate child for months and said "You always come first for me, do I still come first for you?". He went back to see Nora and asked that Kayla stay because he had a pinata. Kayla begged to stay for the pinata so she agreed but wasn't happy about it. Tom said "I'll be back in 20 minutes", he had to go buy the pinata. Gabby Gabby was serving Xiau Mei pickles and soup. Xiau Mei was complaining about the food. She asked Gabby to rub her feet for her and Gabby told her to rub her own chubby stumps. Xiau Mei said "You are meanest person", Gabby said " I am THE meanest person, you've been in the country 1 year, modify your nouns" and Xiau Mei said "You are bitch" lol. Gabby turned around and told her after the baby was born she was going to send her back to China to be a slave. Xiao Mei told Gabby she promised her to get her an apartment in Chinatown after the baby was born and Gabby replied something along the lines of "Tell your Chinese friend Sue Me". Later Gabby was looking everywhere for Xiao Mei and she was gone. She went to ask Carlos where she could be, they checked a Chinese restaurant and the waitress told Gabby to leave and told her that she knew what she told Xiao Mei. Carlos was mad Gabby treated her that way. Gabby was dropping Carlos off, he got out of the car and she was really upset telling him how Xiao Mei will live the American dream and her American dream is dead and he said "Just so you know....." and he couldn't finish because Gabby drove off. Bree Bree and Orsen were eating dinner. Then the dessert came and he proposed. She said it was a little sudden, he told her luck can change and let him change hers and she accepted. Bree met with Lynette, Gabby and Susan. She told them she wanted them to go to her place for dinner the following Saturday, she had an annoucement to tell them. She ended up telling them there but told them to act surprised the following week. Gabby said he must be good in bed and Bree said they are waiting for marriage to have sex. Gabby burst out laughing But bree insisted that's what they were doing. Later on Bree and Orsen were kissing and he wanted to get busy but she told him they decided they would wait until they got married. At a later time.. he was washing the glasses and Bree said she already washed them. He told her they hadn't been washed with a certain product and started giving her cleaning tips for different types of stains and she was getting turned on by it. They went to the room and he wanted to go down on her. She said she doesn't do that but he convinced her and did it. Afterwards you just see Bree thinking about the sink of dishes being filled with water and the water overflowing in the sink. She gets up and was all freaking out. We then see her at the doctor saying she had symptoms of spasms and hot clutching, but that it felt good. The doctor asked what she was doing and she said resting with her fiance and the doctor asked if they were having sex and told Bree she had an orgasm. Bree was shocked and said she had orgasms in the past but they never felt like that, they were more of a relief sign that it was over etc..., and the doctor again repeated she had an orgasm. (Bree's face was priceless) During the engagement announcement party she held, the doorbell rang. It was Carolyn (Orsen's neighbor). She walked in and asked Orsen "does she know you killed your wife?". She told Bree not to let him fool her and to get away from him while she can. Orsen said the wife left and Carolyn said that it was too coincidental that nobody has heard from her since she left , that she mysteriously dissapeared. Bree asked her to leave her house and Carolyn said "Fine, be a fool, marry him, just don't be surprised when you go missing too". He told Bree he hadn't killed her, but that she left and disappeared. Bree asked if they were still married and he told her he got a divorce on the grounds of abandonment. She said she believed him and she loved him. She went to throw out the garbage outside and it was raining. Mary Alice Every storm brings with it hope that somehow by morning everything will be made clean again -Bree standing by the trash and even the most struggling stains will have disappeared, like the doubts over his innocence.... or the consequence of his mistake -Lynnette waking in the house and sees Tom playing cards with Kayla like the scars of his betrayal -Gabby walking in and seeing Xiao Mei sitting on a chair eating or the memory of his kiss -Susan walking in and staring at a picture of her and Mike So we wait for the storm to pass, hoping for the best -Bree still in the rain even though we know in our hearts some stains are indelible, nothing can wash then away -we see a body covered in dirt that's washing off from the rain, in an area where a housing project will be.
