Prince to appear on American Idol
NOTORIOUSLY shy Prince is willing to do anything to keep his album "3121" at the top of the Billboard charts. Industry insiders say Prince is worried that his record, which recently debuted at No. 1, might drop off the charts next week. So his record company convinced him to go on "American Idol" to boost sales as Barry Manilow did earlier this year. "It wasn't easy though," said one source, "because Prince apparently hates the show and has never even watched it." I hope they're going to do an 80's theme in general, not just Prince songs. I don't think anybody could do justice to his songs but especially not the current con-*test*-('")ants. Can you imagine Kellie doing "Little Red Corvette"? :roll: "Delirious" would be more appropriate for her.

I can't take that lil box of rocks seriously, every time I see her I just think of "Look a pickle" and I start gigglin uncontrollably. I would like to see an 80's theme too, I think that would be the bomb!

I bet Mandisa would do a great job with "I Feel For You" by Chaka Khan. I could see Kellie doing "Material Girl" by Madonna. Maybe Chris could do a Rick Springfield song. "Affair of the Heart", "Jessie's Girl", something like that. For some reason, I could picture Ace doing a Wham or George Michaels song, possibly INXS. Paris would probably do an early Whitney Houston song, like"How Will I Know". No idea what Bucky or Elliott should sing.

I feel a little sorry for Prince. But then again, American Idol isn't the worst reality show to appear on. He could do worse... a lot worse.

I think just doing Prince songs would be difficult for the Idols. I would NOT want to attempt his songs.

I heard on the radio this morning that AI is pulling the Prince thing because he told them he wasn't going to go and personally meet with the AI con-*test*-('")ants. :roll: :roll: :roll:
