No, I just posted a picture of a balloon dart board. This is the badge. Not too impressive, IMO, especially for what's required to get it.

Qbone- 04-30-2005

i got my special Poppit! badge as well..... and you're right, the badge is not that great... the small-by-your-name version is just a purple balloon with a yellowish glow....yawn.... anywho, when i saw the challenge was coming, i practiced a little wednesday and thursday, only to realize that i could never "do it", it would just have to happen... i even told rufus, that even with the push pin and the pull down weight, i don't think i could get it...heck, when i play normally, i'm lucky i win, let alone leave fewer than 5 balloons to get the extra bonus... anywho, this afternoon, i tried several times while logged in on my wife's account, and then my son's account.... never getting close..... and then tonight, i logged into my account, and on the first game, i had a push pin (used it with about 25 balloons left) and ended up leaving just one....... one........ after freaking out and getting pissed a little (as if this would be the closest i would ever get and it was teasing me), i realized i could undo the moves.... so i undid the moves until i get the push pin back, and then looked for a way to get that "final" balloon hooked up and working the rest back with the pin.... did it on the first undo retry.... and poof.... was excited, until i saw the actual badge.... but was still a little excited, until i read pika's adventure of studying the balloons, and well, now i just feel like i lucked out and it happened with basically no skill of my own.....   what? isn't this the place were we go for the Pogo Pity badge  :? yeah baby, took skill to win this one

Do you guys pay to play these games or are they free?

Rufus- 04-30-2005

I HATE POPPIT! I bet Debitpoopy got hers on the first try.

Rufus- 04-30-2005

Oh and .... if anyone else gets their poppit badge, please do the "undo" and record all of your moves and then tell me so I can get mine. I think I was even poppitting in my sleep!

Princess Poopypants- 04-30-2005

HOLY SHITZOLA!! I was poppiting in my sleep, too! I was in the same room as you last night Rufus. I had no luck at all. I can't even get below 10 balloons!!! Qbone & Pika -- what was your popping strategy? Do you start from the top and work your way down, start from the bottom and work your way to the top, start from the sides and work in, or just random? I tried all of these methods and got nowhere!!

pika- 04-30-2005

Tara--I pay to play. I like to collect badges for the games and you can't really do that with free accounts that end after the 14 day trial period. Rufus--there are several Poppit game configurations so even if someone told you step by step what they did to pop all their balloons, it wouldn't help you unless you had the exact same game they did. I looked for the color the most spaced apart. Bigger groups of colors can shift and still wind up with others of their color later in the puzzle so you need to round up the scragglers first. I started from the left. The middle wasn't too bad so I went to the right next. After all the purple balloons were gone, I started trying to get like colors grouped together by popping groups of other colors in between. I really think the key is to get a push pin or weight to help you (a balloon with a star on it) and to keep working on the same puzzle, undoing as often as necessary, rather than starting new puzzles. Luck probably has something to do with it, too. I tried playing again last night using the same strategy and wasn't able to get down to 0 balloons again, or even under five.

pika- 04-30-2005

Out of curiousity, I looked up my stats at Poppit. I hadn't played the game much before, just once in a while. When I heard it was going to be an upcoming challenge, I practiced a bit. Won: 42 games, Lost: 45.

Qbone- 04-30-2005

i work the balloons sort of the same way as Pika; i start on the outsides working in, and from top to bottom as much as i can.... and while your eyes tend to find the groupings easier, like Pika said, it's better to be aware of the loners that don't have a matching color anywhere near.... often, working a middle loner up towards the top to connect the sides eventually..... other than that, rubbing the screen and begging and/or praying is all i've got to offer

DarStar- 04-30-2005

I'm going to tackle that poppit thing today. It requires some thinking so I must have my coffee first. I played Tri- Peaks last nite and I always forgot that I really enjoy that game... until I am forced to play it. LOL. Panda Poker on the other hand I don't like.. so I use the hint and push most hands... lol.. I pay to play as well. I think my yr ends in November.

DarStar- 04-30-2005

I got it poppit right after Rufus left.. lol.. she's bad luck.

pika- 04-30-2005

Yay! DarStar did it!!!!!!!!!

Shmoo- 04-30-2005

my advice would be to start from the bottom and work your way up.

Rufus- 04-30-2005

I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I came back and got it within about 5 minutes ....

Princess Poopypants- 04-30-2005

Congrats! Did you try Pika and Qbone's strategy? Did you stay on the same puzzle and keep doing the undo? I can't seem to get below 10 balloons left with any strategy!! I tried for about an hour last night and about 30 minutes so far today!
