PB & J I'm curious about something. When the houseguests are on peanut butter and jelly, what all are they allowed to eat? I would assume they get bread, peanut butter and jelly. What about crackers, waffles, bagels, or celery to have peanut butter on? Do they have to drink water all week or are they allowed to have milk, juice or other beverages? Do they still get to have coffee?
Personally, I like peanut butter so I don't think I'd have a problem with it. It amazes me the number of houseguests that hate peanut butter. They do know the possibility of being out on PB&J for a week or more when they sign up to compete, don't they???
I don't have jelly on my peanut butter sandwiches or toast too often. I like just plain peanut butter. I have to have milk with it, though. Water and a peanut butter sandwich just don't go together.

I believe they get peanut butter, bread, jelly, a variety of condiments, coffee, tea and water.

If I have a peanut butter sandwich, it must have jelly! Preferably grape. And I like it with a nice tall glass of cold milk.
I only eat peanut butter alone on Ritz crackers and I don't like peanut butter on bagels, rye or wheat bread. Give me hearty white bread. Picky, ain't I?

Yes, you are picky, Kitri! And yet you like grape jelly. Gross! When I eat jelly, I like raspberry, boysenberry, or currant. I don't like peanut butter on wheat bread but I do like it on English muffins. I don't think I've ever had it on a bagel. Have to have cream cheese on those.

Im the opposite, I dont like PNB but I like jelly bread/toast...especially grape. The only other jelly I like is strawberrry.

I, too, have wondered what the big deal about PBJ is. I guess after eating it for every meal all week it would get old, but I like PBJ and eat it at least once a week. Sometimes I use plum jam or something, but it's usually grape. I used peach preserves once but that wasn't so marvey.
I think I'm gonna go make myself a PBJ sandwich now...

I was thinking if Eric returns to the BB house, I might go on PB&J for a week in homage to Kaysar, plus just to see what it'd be like.
Becky578- 08-08-2005
I like PBJ, too, but it would be hard to eat only PBJ for a week!
And they only get grape jelly and I HATE grape jelly! Strawberry all the way!

Becky's my bud. Down with grape jelly!!

Re: Condiments What I don't understand is why the houseguests would need condiments when on the PB&J diet. Who the heck is going to put mustard or ketchup on their PB&J sandwhich? Is Big Brother just too darn lazy to go in the house and remove the condiments or something?
I could easily do a PB&J diet for a week. I've been tempted to do it, just to see what it's like.

You can make Asian/Thai food with PB and soy sauce, Matt. I assume that's why they're allowed to keep condiments--to give them at least some variety. I'd probably experiment with it if I was on a PB&J diet.
If we can get enough people to do it, maybe we could do a PB&J challenge on the Island! We'd have to have people on an honor system since we have no way of verifying that they're only eating PB&J but it would be interesting.
If not a full week, we could do it during the work week, leaving the weekend free to be off PB&J.

Re: PB&J I am so craving a PB&J sandwhich right now.

I had Breyer's peanut butter cup ice cream just a little while ago. I think I could live off it for a week.

And I thought I was the only one who liked grape jelly with my PB! Pepette and Brad know how to make a true PB&J sammich!!
But I also like Smuckers strawberry jam but with cream cheese or butter on a toasted bagel or English muffin.

I was wondering how much PB & J they get, as well. Are they given a limited amount of PB & J or can they eat (and experiment) all they want and just ask BB for more when they are running low?
I had Blue Bell's PB & J ice cream but didn't like it; it had whole roasted nuts in it and just didn't work for me. :?
