Biography:
Nick Verreos was born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Caracas, Venezuela to a Greek-American diplomat father and a Venezuelan mother. Nick's Mediterranean-Latin heritage has been infused into his philosophy of design. His dream has always been to design sexy yet elegant women’s wear that emphasizes beautiful draping and clean lines.
After graduating from UCLA and The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles (FIDM), Nick has worked as a Designer and Patternmaker for various Southern California design houses. Currently he is an instructor at FIDM as well as a freelance patternmaker. He also co-designs a small line he created with his partner five years ago called NIKOLAKI, which has been showcased in “Smashbox Los Angeles Fashion Week.”
When he is not drawing or draping, Nick loves dance/house music, discussing world politics, watching “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” reading “Hello Magazine” and line dancing.

Tim's Take: Episode 1
Nick dyed his muslin a rich cinnamon color and designed a stunning look: an evening suit consisting of a cropped jacket with large diagonal pleats over a floor-length halter dress. Everything about this design was perfection in my opinion, including the way that Nick's model, Tarah, worked the look on the runway. This was surely a contender for the win.

Tim's Take: Episode 2
Nick took his "very prized" vintage leather jacket and transformed it into a skin tight skirt. His t-shirt became a ruched and exaggerated camisole. I found the look to be very "S&M Disco." I can hear Donna Summer now: "Someone left my whip out, I'm in pain." Sorry, Donna.

Tim's Take: Episode 3
Nick wins! What a superb showing by Nick. His use of a bold, graphic print, his sexy and sophisticated design, and his clear understanding of the client all spelled success. I loved the ruched bodice of the dress and the layers of its skirt and how those layers juxtaposed the pattern of the print. Furthermore, the addition of the headdress was fashion genius. Nick, there's going to be a Barbie box with your picture on it!

So far, Nick is one of my favorite designers. His clothes fit nice, use color well, and aren't overdone with embellishments and accessories. I could see celebrities wearing his designs to an event.

Yes, I like Nick as well. Since Daniel F. is now gone, my favorite designers right now are Nick, Chloe, and Emmett.
