Among the cops arriving at the crime scene is hostage negotiator Detective Rob Nunally, the only officer permitted entry to the house. Surprisingly, Crawford readily admits to shooting his wife, but Nunally is too stunned to pay close attention when he recognizes his lover, whose true identity he never knew, lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Although Jennifer was shot at point blank range, Nunally realizes she isn't dead. Crawford is immediately arrested and arraigned after confessing--a seemingly slam-dunk case for hot shot assistant district attorney Willy Beachum. But nothing is as simple as it seems, including this case. In a tense duel of intellect and strategy, Crawford and Willy both learn that a "fracture" can be found in every ostensibly perfect façade. Tarantino directs Death Proof, a slasher film about a scarred, weathered rebel named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell), who leeringly stalks three young women out for a night on the town. Rodriguez directs the zombie film Planet Terror, in which an undead couple leads a rampage that will leave countless dead and millions afflicted. He’s so good, he makes everyone else look bad. As a result, Angel’s superiors send him to a place where his talents won’t be quite so embarrassing -- the crime-free village of Sandford. He is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman (Nick Frost), a huge action movie fan who believes his new partner might just be a real-life ''bad boy,'' and his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases he longs for.
