May 5th Episode Gregg wins the Reward Challenge and takes Jen and Katie with him for some fun on a yacht with their loved ones. Meanwhile, Tom and Ian come up with a plan to get rid of Gregg if he doesn't win Immunity. Sure enough, Ian wins Immunity for the second time in a row. Ian, Tom, Caryn, and Katie vote for Gregg. Gregg and Jen vote for Caryn. Gregg is voted off the island and is stunned.
I loved Tom and Ian's plan, it was brilliant. And very risky if Katie didn't switch her alliance and vote with Ian, Caryn, and Tom. Kudos to Tom and Ian for coming up with the plan. Not only are these two physical threats, they know how to play the game with their heads. I hope Tom and Ian continue winning the Immunity Challenges and end up in the finals together. It would be the perfect ending to a good season.

I totally agree with the one exception: without Stephenie in the final 2 there will be no perfect ending for me.
Too funny that Gregg got the boot after his fits regarding Steph.

Their plan was really smart. Katie didn't want to take any chance that she would draw the purple rock and go home. She did what she had to do to stay in the game. The look on Jen's face was priceless. She knows she's in trouble without Gregg.
Winning that reward was pretty costly.

I thought the point of the plan was not to tell Katie. Did I miss something?
Is Ian so much of a punk that he couldn't go through with it? What if she would have told Greg? If Ian trusts Katie, he's crazy, and I think he does.

I think Ian told Katie, so that she could have the option of voting for Gregg, that way there would be no tie and no purple rock to worry about. I knew as soon as he told her that she'd vote for Gregg. She wasn't about to put her own butt on the line to save him.
They waited until just before TC to tell her, though, so she couldn't go back to Gregg and Jen and try to hatch another plan.
Very smart playing.

I think that the plan was always to tell Katie and play on her fear of being sent home on a 1 in 3 chance. It was almost a sure thing.

I think it was smart of Ian to tell Katie. He knew she wouldn't risk herself, and what would she have to gain by telling Gregg? She already knew how tight Ian, Tom and Caryn were (Ian and Tom obvious, Caryn as witnessed by last week) so even if Gregg, Jen and her decided to switch the vote to Tom or something, there would still be a tie regardless, and they could be subjected to the whole 'purple rock' tiebreaker. AND, if she had gone to Gregg, not only would it have not helped the situation, it would have made her look too much like a flip flopper and like she cant be trusted, which often results in an outting for that person.
She knew if she stuck with her 'original' alliance then Jen would probably go next, and then she'd have a chance to make it past Caryn. Then it's down to her winning immunity, or one of the guys decideing to take her to the final 2 as an easy win. I am really hoping she doesn't make it that far (plus how bad would that look for Tom or Ian to ditch eachother to take Katie??)
