Re: May 3rd Episode Summary
teams received $377.00 for the leg.
*Nitpicker alert* I thought it was $477.00, I could be wrong, though?
$477 is what I wrote down. (Sorry Brinna...But maybe both Her Grace and I are wrong! )
And R&K left at 12:53...exactly 2 hours after U&J. Just to complete your times. I did the recap from notes; I didn't tape it. My daughter was talking to me at the time they said how much money the teams got. I thought I heard $377 but you two are probably right and it was $477. Thanks for the time completion Jay!
Re: The Amazing Race
Why is there ALWAYS a prize when they finish first but NEVER when Uchenna and Joyce finish first??
Bad luck, I guess. The first time they were first was when they used the Fast Forward... and I don't think there has even been a prize for the 1st place team when the FF was used. The second time they came in first was when there was the special Travelocity prize... and it would've been weird to hand out both a prize for the 1st place team and the team with the special gnome.
Ray and Deana used the FF and won matching RAV4's. :::shrug:::
I'm guessing Uchenna & Joyce won't care too much about it when they win the million, though.
Re: May 3rd Episode Summary
10:53 pm Uchenna & Joyce
11:57 pm Meredith & Gretchen
12:37 pm Rob & Amber
12:5_ pm Ron & Kelly
U/J held most of their 2-hour lead last week, but M/G only beat R/A by 40 minutes!
Rob & Amber didn’t know what whirling dervishes were
Me, neither!
and when they saw them, Amber’s reaction was “spooky”.
Me, too!
Rob got access to the Internet to look for alternative flights. When he had obtained the information he wanted, he told the employee, “Don’t let anyone else use the internet”. Why do so many people help this guy??
Why not? He's the Best Rob Ever.
There was lots of screaming as the non-driving team members tried to direct their partners.
Funniest part of the show last night. Well-edited, looked like a comedy of errors.
If the number of attempts were posted for Kelly and Joyce, I didn’t see it. After seven attempts, Meredith successfully drove the bus.
Kelly made at least 7 attempts, and Joyce a minimum of 5.
Ron commented that, “I see a definite lack of character in Rob.”
I found that particularly ironic. Ron has something of an ego and belittles Kelly frequently. From what we saw on the show, Rob treats Amber much better than Ron treats Kelly. I think it would have been terribly amusing if she had taken him up on his claim that he could drive the bus better and told the taxi driver to go back to the bus Roadblock, enabling U/J and M/G to pass them.
Don't feel too bad for Meredith & Gretchen; Gretchen got a new backpack out of this race.
I agree that with all his faults, i've never seen Rob disrespect Amber. Ron is not all that kind to Kelly, but she's a pain in the ass, drama queen. I think she's still stuck in her beauty pageant days thinking it's all about her.
My son and I laughed forever watching Meredith get frustrated while doing the roadblock. He was so dramatic!
