June 9th Show
I watched part of this one on DVR but it cut out (memory full! :shock: :mad: ) before the end... From what I saw, though, it was a better show than the first one and I liked most of the groups. The names escape me, but I like "My Sharona" the best. Vanilla Ice didn't impress me, but he was pretty good too. I didn't see the last 3 songs, though.

I missed the show. :cry: I thought The Cut was going to be one hour long so when it quit on the half-hour, I figured it was only a 30 minute show and watched something else until the top of the hour, when I thought Hit Me Baby would be on. It ended up that The Cut ran 90 minutes long so I still could have seen the second half of Hit Me Baby if I had realized it was on then. :mad:

I can't believe Vanilla Ass won!! :evil: All he did was shout and prance across the stage looking like a total ass! What a joke! The Knack should have won. They showed they still have the knack when they did, "My Sharona" and their cover song (forgot the name) was just as good. Didn't like the Motels cover of Nora Jones' song or Tommy TuTone's cover. They really sucked!

Oh, but, as an aside I thought that the lead singer of the motels did a fabulous job on her own song "Only the Lonely' Her voice remains in really good form, because she still performs. Some of them sound like they havent sang a note in ten years.

Martha Davis (The Motels) still has a good voice, but her Norah Jones cover didn't show off her voice. It was a sped-up version and she seemed to be yelling. The way Norah Jones did it, that would've shown off her voice better. I read somewhere that The Motels continued to do well in Australia after their popularity waned here in the US. She's kept making music, performing, etcetera. I loved her voice and dramatic flair back in the day and was glad to see/hear her nail "Only The Lonely". I still have my cassette of "Careful", the lesser known album released before The Motels hit it big.
