Heroes
Heroes premieres this Monday (September 25). Source: http://heroes.nbc.com/ Some people are born to be extraordinary. They thought they were like everyone else... until they woke with incredible abilities. In Japan, a lowly office worker can teleport at will. In New York, a struggling artist can paint the future. In Los Angeles, a discontented beat cop can hear the thoughts of others. Elsewhere, a high school cheerleader discovers she is unbreakable and a single mom realizes she has a powerful alter ego. Heroes chronicles the lives of these people and the lives of others like them – whose destiny just might be saving humankind. NBC.com weekly exclusives include an original, animated graphic novel that follows new hero adventures.

Re: Heros
I'm all over this show, it looks like it could be great. Hopefully it won't suck. And the dude from Alias and Felicity is in it as well... cool!

Episode 1 From the official website: As a total eclipse casts its shadow across the globe, a genetics professor (Sendhil Ramamurthy, "Blind Guy Driving") in India is led by father's disappearance to uncover a secret theory -- there are people with super powers living among us. A young dreamer (Milo Ventimiglia, "Gilmore Girls") tries to convince his politician brother (Adrian Pasdar, "Judging Amy") that he can fly. A high school cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere, "Ice Princess") learns that she is totally indestructible. A Las Vegas stripper (Ali Larter, "Final Destination"), struggling to make ends meet to support her young son (Noah Gray-Cabey, "My Wife & Kids"), discovers that her mirror image has a secret. A fugitive from justice (Leonard Roberts, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") continues to baffle authorities who twice have been unable to contain him. A gifted artist (Santiago Cabrera, "Empire"), whose drug addiction is destroying his life and relationship with his girlfriend (Tawny Cypress, NBC's "Third Watch"), can paint the future. A down-on-his-luck Los Angeles beat cop (Greg Grunberg, "Alias") can hear people's thoughts, which puts him on the trail of an elusive serial killer. In Japan, a young man (Masi Oka, NBC's "Scrubs") develops a way to stop time through sheer will power. Their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world… *** From Television Without Pity: Man. Being a superhero sucks more than you'd think. And it's not nearly as fun as it should be. And in the case of several of our new heroes, it’s downright painful and resembles someone taking a really high-pressured crap. In tonight's premiere episode, we meet the son of a prominent professor who was "disappeared" while he was researching the possibility of human beings with supernatural powers; an indestructible cheerleader who can walk through fire without getting burned and whose bones have an annoying tendency to poke through her skin; a cyber-porn yummy mummy who either has the ability to divide herself in two and kill people or is actually totally schizoid; a whiny Emo hospice worker who thinks he can fly; his bitchy brother with political aspirations; a heroin addict with visions of the future; and a rather charming Japanese Star Trek geek who not only believes in his superpowers, but actually seems to understand them AND be able to control them. An eclipse of the sun seems to be involved, but just how is never really articulated. And the kind of evil shadowy government bad guy also appears to be the adoptive father of the indestructible rah-rah girl but his story isn't clear yet. In the end, Emo decides to jump off the edge of a building in order to make his mark on the world (or the pavement) but instead of flying away like Superman without a cape, he just plummets down and is about to land on his bitchy brother when the bitchy brother actually swoops up to save him. Looks like this is one politician who will be soaring through the polls!

I really like this show so far. I love superheroes to start with. It reminds me of Lost with so many questions and working our way towards the answer. I think we'll get our questions answered quicker in this one though. I'm looking forward to the next show.

If you missed the 1st episode, you can see it tonight at 8 pm or download it from the official site (http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/). It also appears as if it will be shown on Sci-Fi this Friday if you missed it again. It's strange and fun. Dark and brooding...which appeals to me right now.  And yet...with a promise of triumph somewhere in the future. I love Hiro the geeky, Japanese kid...and the Stripper-Mom whose reflection butchers the bad guys. The cheerleader is okay...and I think I like the Indian former-professor/taxi driver. Cool show. I will watch.

Re: Kitty Pryde
The writers get bonus points from me for the Kitty Pryde reference in the first episode.

Even I thought he was hot even though he's not my type. I prefer blondes or light-haired guys. He's smart, though, and I like guys like that.

ok ok......what about the show people????    Jay, did you watch last night's episode yet? I wish they'd have done the first episode in 2 hours to intro all the characters...then we could get on with the story line. Ok let's start with Stripper: So she's supposed to have a "mirror image" as opposed to split personality. She wasn't covered in blood the way her mirror image was after she came to. Also, who got the car....I'm guessing the mirror image maybe??? since Niki (yeah I remembered a name) lost 4 hours or so...new car, clean clothes and dead bodies in the trunk. Cheerleader: Ok so she's adopted...are all the others adopted too? I don't think her father has done anything to her yet.....but maybe now that she realizes and is using her "abilities" Hiro: ya gotta love this guy....comes across the comic of himself and arrives at the artist's apt only to find him dead...and he gets arrested. Turns out he's teleported one month into the future and I'm guessing that blast coming through New York is what all the people with abilities have to stop.

Pepette- 10-03-2006

Im not Jay but.......I watched, and liked. Now I have to start watching yet another show regularly *sigh*. The stripper....does she have the ability to physically be 2 people? Im assuming her alter ego got the car and put the bodies in the trunk. Cheerleader.....At first I thought he would kill her, but I bet he uses her to find out who the others are. Hiro....he's so cute the way he gets so excited. So can we assume this Skylar person is the one doing the killings, and he is going after the people with powers? And that he is person or subject zero and the only way to kill these people is to saw off the top of their head and remove their brain? And that the hott Indian guy is going to gather all these Heros together to stop some horrible event from destroying the world? And could I sound any more geeky?

I think so too...or at least to study her Hiro....he's so cute the way he gets so excited. isn't he sweet  So can we assume this Skylar person is the one doing the killings, and he is going after the people with powers? And that he is person or subject zero and the only way to kill these people is to saw off the top of their head and remove their brain? And that the hott Indian guy is going to gather all these Heros together to stop some horrible event from destroying the world? Actually I don't think he's out to kill the others....his first victim seems to have been random unless the parent or little girl have some abilities. Although you did see in Hiro's bit (in the future remember) that the artist guys head had been cup open. But yes I think Mohinder will end up gathering them all together. And could I sound any more geeky? actually yes you could

Aww, you're not a geek, Peppy. If you are, you're a cool geek.
