Help, more than suggestion
I have never been able to learn how to insert pictures into posts. Can anyone talk me through it? Thanks!

Here's some instructions I wrote previously. **** Posting images isn't as difficult as I thought it would be and it really adds a lot, especially when you're doing a tribute to someone. You can get images from any website but the easy way to find what you're looking for is to go to google and do an image search. When you see the picture you want in google, double-click on the picture to select it, then right-click the image with your mouse and select Properties from your choices. In the properties list, you'll find the address (URL) for the image. This tells the computer where to find the selected image on the internet. Highlight the whole address from http to the ending (gif, jpg, whichever type it is). Then right-click and select Copy or go to the menu bar and select Edit and then Copy. Go back to the message board, Paste the image into the post you're making and then highlight the whole thing and hit the selection button at the end of it. Or you can just manually type in the appropriate brackets before and after your image URL. The most important thing here is to make sure the brackets at the beginning and ending of the URL are touching the letters they are next to. If there is a space between either bracket and the URL, your image will not come up. Example: http://members.home.nl/fredmens/pikachu.gif > I purposely put a space between each pair of brackets and the URL or else you would have seen this image come up. I like to have two browser windows open when I'm getting images so that I can have the message board open on one and google or another website I'm getting an image from open on the other. That way, I can go back and forth more easily and can change images easier if the first one I selected ends up not being what I wanted. Be aware of the image size when you're looking at the properties for the image. I think the limit we have for our message board is a width of 600. Anything more than that makes you have to scroll over to read all the text. I try to select images with a width of 600 pixels or less. You can resize images that end with a gif extension. Go to the GIF Works website, select file from the GIF Works menu bar and then File Open, paste the URL address of your image in the box under Method One and then select fetch image. It will bring your image up and allow you to make changes. When you're done, right-click your changed image and save the new URL address and then paste it to your post as you normally would. Here's a link to GIF Works http://www.gifworks.com/ I tried to explain it as best as I could and hopefully I didn't lose you. The best way to learn is through trial and error.
