Old vs. Young (8/8) It's old vs. young on this special Fear Factor. Is it better to be young, or young at heart? It was the battle of the ages on this week's Fear Factor! We jumped right in with the baby boomers vs. the Gen X'ers? Y'ers? What are they these days? Regardless, it was time for them to stare fear in the eyes! The first stunt was a game of tug-of-war over two rooftops one hundred feet in the air. One of the young couples would be going home right away as they competed against each other in the first event. The couples were Cara and Stephen vs. Jordan and Tess. They were both filled with the confidence of young naïve college kids who think they know everything, but are always in for rude awakenings. Ah, college kids. Joe counted it down and then Jordan got the early advantage. He yanked hard as Stephen and Cara were eliminated. They really had no chance to begin with, as the older couples opined that Stephen's mouth was too big to be a good competitor. Old people = wisdom. Then it was time for the old couples to go head-to-head: Donna and Steve vs. Larry and Kathy. Donna and Steve started to slide, but they gained ground while Larry and Kathy began to slip. The battle continued but Donna and Steve finally fell down and toppled over the edge. Day two: Joe brought the couples to a dark building, where waiting for them were hissing Madagascar cockroaches. The women had to be buried in the bugs while the boys had to eat through cow in-*test*-('")ines to get to the keys and let the women out. No one would be eliminated today but the winner would receive $20,000 and a trip to Universal Orlando Resort. Tess and Jordan went first and Tess was buried in thousands of roaches. Jordan ate through the in-*test*-('")ines quickly and got the keys out. He unlocked his feet and let Tess out of the cage in one minute and 19 seconds. Kathy nearly vomited from watching Jordan eat the in-*test*-('")ines, but the older couple was ready to compete. The roaches were poured on her and Larry started chewing through the in-*test*-('")ines. Larry got through two at a time but screwed up unlocking himself from the cuffs. The time started running out and they got through in one minute and... nine seconds! They won! But there was still one more stunt for the grand finale. The couples arrived on an empty highway and their final stunt was to drive a car on the back of a truck while their opponents flung barrels at them. Larry and Kathy were up first. Larry steered while Kathy used the gas and brakes – Larry's advice to Kathy was not to even touch the brakes. Tess and Jordan started flinging tires, barrels and garbage cans at them, but Larry and Kathy made it onto the truck with few problems and in just 25 seconds. Tess and Jordan got behind the wheel, but Tess was scared out of her mind. They worked fast, though, and got on the truck quickly. The time to beat was 25 seconds; they came in at 27 seconds. They were only two seconds in the lead, but Larry and Kathy won it all! For the Capital One Home Invasion, Joe snuck up on the Schultz family and told them they had to drink a stink-beetle and rotten-milk smoothie. The family drank them down and got two cards worth $2,500 each! http://www.nbc.com/Fear_Factor/rewind/610_1.shtml

Disaster Fear Factor (8/22) This episode was "disaster" Fear Factor! The only thing that stood between the con-*test*-('")ants and victory was Mother Nature. Joe immediately showed them the first stunt: They would have to traverse a ledge through hurricane-force winds and driving rain. The team that did it the fas-*test*-('") would be the winner and would get to pick a team to be sent home. Brian and Michael - two best friends - went first. They started out pretty fast and finished the stunt in 53 seconds. They probably could have gone faster but Brian's handlebar mustache may have gotten in the way. Jeni and Kristen were up next. Kristen is a lawyer and Jeni - well she does nothing. The girls seemed more nervous than Brian and Michael were about the height of the ledge, but they worked quickly as well. It was close, but they finished in just over a minute. Muhsinah and Chanya went third. They’re from Florida - so the hurricane winds barely caused them to break a sweat. However, this gave them a false sense of confidence. Their time was only 58 seconds. Jacob and Josh are brothers-in-law and thought they could win this relatively easy competition. They did - they finished in 35 seconds, destroying the competition! As winners, Josh and Jacob decided to play fair and sent home Jeni and Kristen for scoring the slowest time. They hoped their decision wouldn't come back to haunt them. For the next stunt, Joe brought the teams to an abandoned warehouse. Each team would have to stick their heads into sludge and pull out Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches with their teeth and eat them. Whoever did it the fas-*test*-('") would win $25,000 from Progressive Direct. In addition, the winner would pick the final day's order. Mark and Brian went first and started chomping down on the roaches. Brian wasn't able to get very many, but Michael loved them and ate almost all of them. In 11 minutes and 27 seconds they swallowed all 10 of their roaches. Jacob and Josh went second and slapped each other in the face to get motivated. They worked quickly and, unlike Mark and Brian, they both chowed down as a team. In only five minutes and 16 seconds they finished them all. Muhsinah and Chanya went last and they started screaming. They couldn't even pick the roaches up from the floor, let alone chew on them. The girls quit, which meant Jacob and Josh were the winners. For the final stunt, Joe brought the teams out to the woods at night. There would be a flash flood and the teams would have to make their way up Category 5 rapids to collect flags. They would have to hand the flags to their partner and then get up the rest of the way, collecting the remaining the flags. Josh and Jacob chose Brian and Mark to go first. The rapids came at them hard as Brian tried to stay on his feet and make his way up the rapids. He got the flags to Michael, who was struggling with the current. Michael decided to skip a flag and was taken out again by the rapids. He left a second flag behind and dropped the third. Their final number of flags was six. Jacob and Josh chose Muhsinah and Chanya to go second. If the guys struggled, the girls certainly had it worse. Muhsinah took a beating and could barely stand up. Muhsinah quit before even getting a single flag. It was down to Jacob and Josh. They had the utmost confidence that they would not only beat six flags, but get all nine. Josh started first and made his way up steadily, picking each flag. Jacob went next and had no problem with the water and picking up more flags. They easily got all nine flags and won all the stunts. Fear is definitely not a factor for them! Fear Factor Home Invasion traveled to Hagerstown, Maryland where a local family transfered stink beetles into a beaker to win a $5,000 Capital One credit card! http://www.nbc.com/Fear_Factor/rewind/611_1.shtml
