Episode 5 (10/11) The show opens with a recap of last weeks events. To date the teams have lost a total of 483lbs. This show is not just about losing weight, it's about changing lives. We are shown pictures of last years final three contestants. Someone's coming back for an update. And it's... not any of the final three. Dre is shown, having lost a total of 67lbs and looking awesome.
Suzanne, Andrea and Suzi are having a conversation. Andrea is missing Ryan (who was eliminated last week). Suzanne tells us in a private interview that Ryan was the "glue" that held Andrea and Suzi together and it was her strategy to get rid of her. In a private interview with Andrea she calls Suzanne a liar. Suzi cries that she just can't handle it anymore.
Temptation time. The trainers, Bob and Jillian, and a silver tray are waiting for the teams in the gazebo. The lid is lifted and the teams are shown a double cheeseburger, onion rings, fries, and a chocolate shake with a cherry on top. No, they don't get to eat it. It's a pop quiz. As a team, they have to figure out how many total calories sit on the tray. The team that is closer wins a day at Universal Studios. The losing team, however higher or lower will have to do a stair on the stairmaster equal to the number of calories. The guys start working together to come up with their answer. On the girls team Suzanne takes over and starts shooting out numbers. Time's up. The girls huddle up and yell, "Bob's Bootie Crew."Still not sure what to think of this new name for the girls. The girls come up with 4249 calories. The guys say 2950 calories. One team is off by 116, while the other team is off by 1410. Looks like somebody's gonna be climbing some stairs. The guys win! The girls are mad. Suzanne knows and says that it's her fault.
As the girls work on climbing all those steps, the guys and Jillian are having a blast at Universal. Dr. Jeff is afraid of roller coasters. Does Jillian care? No. She wants him to overcome his fear and gets him on the coaster. He looks like he had a pretty good time. They all decide to share a cinnabon. Pete pulls off a small piece and savors his bite. He still has a little bite left, which he almost drops, but quickly recovers before it hits the ground. At this point I'm sure the five second rule would have applied here!
Bob is so proud that the girls worked out as a team and encouraged each other. He tells them that they won the temptation. Stop, hold on. Are his shorts too tight or what. Climbing a thousand plus stairs or spending the day at Universal... I know it's about losing weight, but come on Bob.
Bob brings in Dre (one of last years contestants) to help motivate the girls. She tells them that since it's the girls verses the guys they should be able to support one another and kick some butt. Guess she hasn't been watching much of this seasons show, huh They discuss their reasons for being on the show. She leaves them with a little piece of wisdom that it's about appreciating yourself.
At the reward challenge the teams enter a warehouse full of refridgerators. They are locked with padlocks and each team member has a key. They must match their key to a lock and transport what's inside (fat free jello cups) to the open fridges. The team that opens their five and transports all the jello first win videos from home. It's a mad race. The girls win! They finally work together.
Bob is excited that the girls worked as a team. They all go to the common room to see their videos from home. And you guessed it, another cryfest. All the messages were very sweet and loving. These women have great families that miss them very much.
Jillian is running the guys on the treadmill. Dr. Jeff comments that, "b****in' and cryin' must burn alot of calories. Dr. Jeff may take away Mark's title as Mr. Smarty Pants this week.
It's time for weigh in. Suzi tells us that it's fun to be on the blue team and that the girls have bonded. Let's see if it's enough to escape another elimination.
The men are up first.
Jeff 326 loses 10lbs 316
Seth 250 loses 7lbs 243
Pete 350 loses 12lbs 338
Matt 290 loses 11lbs 279
Mark 308 loses 17lbs 291
Total lbs: 57 Total %: 3.74
The girls have to lose more than 39lbs to win.
Suzi 196 loses 5lbs 191
Suzanne 199 loses 8lbs 191
Jen 234 loses 10lbs 224
Shannon 229 loses 8lbs 221
Andrea 198 loses 5lbs 193
With only a 36lb loss (3.41%) for the girls, the guys win! Jen has immunity.
As the girls tell Bob that they must go to elimination he is disappointed. He says that they deserved to win. Andrea says they deserved to win, because they worked together. Shannon just keeps rubbing her head like it's about to explode. Maybe it's because that word deserve keeps flying around the room.
Let the cattiness begin: Suzanne asks Andrea and Suzi if you should vote by the numbers (pounds) or personality. Andrea tells Suzanne that she can't trust her. She continues to tell Suzanne that everything she's done has been to benefit herself and not the team. At this point if looks could kill, we would have to remove Andrea in a body bag. Suzi and Jen have a talk outside. Jen says that Andrea can go because she's not pulling big numbers at weigh in. Suzanne can go because she's lying to everybody. Suzi starts crying. We are treated to another montage of the girls, especially Andrea and Suzanne. Neither girl wants to go home.
Time for vote off.
Andrea: This person makes me laugh, but my issue is trust. She votes Suzanne.
Suzanne: It's not about numbers, it's about personality. This person has the highest weight. And without my help last week she would have been voted out. She votes Shannon.
Shannon: It's been a positive week and won't say anything negative. She votes Suzanne.
Suzi: It's not easy and she likes this person. You guessed it, she's crying again. She votes Suzanne.
And with three votes we do not have to see Jen's vote. Suaznne departs telling the girls that it has been an honor to be with them and she loves them.
Shannon tells Caroline that she chose Suzanne because she flies off the handle. The girls have to bond as a team and be in control of themselves.
Update: WOW! Suzanne looks fantastic. She's lost a total of 70lbs and now weighs 159lbs. She looks very happy.
