Coup d'Etat.... what are the clues?
I am not clear on what Julie was saying about a favorite phrase. Was she referring to the favorite phrase used by the houseguests? One clue is the female sheep with a pink/red bow. Another clue is the desk bell. What are some of the other clues? I think Dr. Will will guess the right answer and give it to Boogie or Jani so he stays under the radar. I remember Will making fun of Monica when she would say, "It's on! But Will says, "it's awn!, it's awn! making fun of her. I heard Kaysar use that phrase with some one he was talking with before he left the BB house. I wonder if the clues are false just to confuse them. If Julie was referring to general phrases then there are tons of them to choose from. Has any housequest already guessed right? What are some of the other clues?

Re: New Twist
Forget the clues, I'm still confused as to what exactly this new coup d'etat twist is all about.

Rufus- 08-12-2006

I'm not sure exactly how it will be used Matt, but the premise behind the coup d'etat is that whoever wins it will get to "overthrow" the HOH of the week. The winner won't know themselves, nor will anyone else, until they are told before the eviction ceremony (I think) at which point they take over as HOH and at that point can completely change both nominees that are on the block. To win the coup d'etat, there will be clues put into the house during the next few days (the first one being the sheep with the bow that we saw at the end of Thursday's episode). The first houseguest to correctly guess the phrase will win. To make their guess, the contestants go into the Diary Room and make their guess in secret. Each contestant only gets to make one guess. What Julie said is this .... "a well known phrase that's related to the big brother game". So people are thinking that because the sheep is wearing a pink bow it means it's a female sheep or a "ewe" which could be "you". Other clues have supposedly shown up in the house but I don't know which ones are real or not and whether or not they are common knowledge. But, my guess for the correct phrase is "Big Brother is watching you". I hope this helps explain.

Rufus thats good! I hadnt thought of Big Brother is watching you. All the others that are being tossed around Ive thought of but not that one. It could be so many things at this point. I think its a little foolish to give your only guess with just a sheep like they are saying Danielle did. This twist has so much potential to be really big and totally flip the game, but there is also a chance that whoever gets it will not use it properly. And by properly I mean to really screw someones game up. The one thing Rufus didnt mention is they can use the power anytime in the next 3 weeks. For my own personal enjoyment, it would have to be won by Janelle so she can screw over Danielle, Erika or James. Id say Howie but if they cant share what it is, Im afraid Howie just wouldnt be bright enough to know when best to use it.

Okay guys, this is my quess based on the two clues of sheep and spool of thread and needle. "You reap what you sow"(sew) If there are more clues then this is not the answer. I heard that Julie said it was a popular phrase that applies to the game. Here some other guesses of clues: Turncoat, coat-tails, wool, color pink, color red, puppets on a string. I am still clueless. It would be funny if BB brought in a dog as a clue. Dogs keep an eye on the sheep. Does BB producers see the players as sheep? I see them as hamsters in a cage where a person controls them. The players are herded in and out of the house like sheep. But I don't think BB would dare call them the sheep to their faces. Humm......

Pepette- 08-13-2006

If you listen to Julie describe the power, she said its a phrase that APPLIES to BB, not used on or associated with. It could be anything.

Rufus- 08-13-2006

Big Brother is Watching You.

Beacho- 08-14-2006

"I(as in eye of the needle they kept zooming in on) have nominated You(ewe) for eviction from the Big Brother house" is my guess.

pika- 08-14-2006

Maybe BB is implying that the houseguests are following Dr. Will like sheep and he's fleecing them all.

Thinking about the clues... They had a pink bow around the sheep so I think they wanted it to be clear it's a female sheep (ewe). It's been said that there's a spool of thread with a needle and there's a knot in the thread. That could mean sew, weave, knot, something else. The latest clue was the grim reaper. They could be dead, reap, ??? So maybe it's something like "You(ewe) are so(sew) dead" as in when someone makes a blunder so bad it's sure to lead to their eviction (like Jase did this season). Or it could be the opposite "You're not dead yet" as in when someone's on the chopping block and manages to "survive". OMG, I just thought of something! You're not on the chopping block. You can't judge me for my actions because you're not the one nominated for eviction.

PinkCat- 08-14-2006

Man, I don't know. I am bad at riddles and such.

pika- 08-14-2006

Yeah, I'm not good at riddles, either.

But I think "You (ewe) are not (knot) on the chopping (grim reaper) block" was a good guess.

Here's another phrase that could apply in the BB household: "I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter" Meaning: 1.) A person accepting punishment/harm with dignity, without crying out 2.) This phrase refers to any event where innocent person(s) were taken quietly and unassumingly to their deaths without the people who know them discovering about it until after it happened.
