Congratulations, La Belle!!!!
La Belle got a new job. Yippee!!! I'm sure she'll be along soon to tell us all about her new job. I'm going to cross fingers and hope her new job luck rubs off on me.

La Belle- 05-31-2006

Here I am with the details..(maybe our pika can hit the big $$ being a psychic once she retires from all of her other life desires :D). Anyway, I know many of you are probably thinking, “damn, this girl changes jobs more than some people change their underwear…” But overtime this job has just began to work my nerves to the extent that I just could not stand stay around any longer. I was working 40 hours along with school, I pulled through with a 3.5 gpa, I shouldn’t have earned that grade average (my grades should have been much worse) and I didn’t enjoy school AT ALL because I had absolutely no free time during that 3 or so month span. With this job I’ll be working only 24 hours a week (with school) and making the same amount of money that I’ve been making in 40 hours. Money isn’t a huge issue for me because I am not responsible for anything major, but it’s definitely nice that I’ll be making the same, and at the same time being able to focus on school, and possibly even enjoy it a little more. The best part of the job will be, NOT working with the public. No more cranky, smelly old people (although not all of them smelled like they needed a diaper change). I was actually touched by an older lady recently. She loved her glasses so much, but her daughters absolutely tore her apart, and make her cry . Anyway, I won’t miss working with the public, some people have been HORRIBLE. I will never begin to understand why some people can be so mean to people that they don’t know, people that they expect something out of. From this glasses job I’ll probably become even more patent, although I’m not sure how much more I can get. The only downside will be the drive. I’ll no longer have a nice, 5 minute drive down the street to work. It’ll be more like 25 minutes now, but that’s still pretty cool because I’ll be able to car pool with James most days.  So anyway, a little more about this job. I’m not exactly sure what my job responsibilities will end up being, but I’m around to help out the financial department with projects and such. I’ll be helping with time sheet entry of the therapist, filing, and other basic administrative duties. I’m definitely going to miss some things about my job. I have some awesome coworkers and have formed a friendship that will definitely last a long time. I’ve come to realize that one major change in the store (new manager, bitch) will cause everyone to leave, why not be first? In short, My new job rocks. If anyone actually read all that, cookies will appear on your door step in the morning.

OH MY GOD I GET COOKIES!!! Congrats on the job love ;) yeah, better be careful stepping outside tomorrow.

The Frog- 05-31-2006

Oh I will be. But I will also be sad if I see no Cookies.

Oh I will be. But I will also be sad if I see no Cookies. you may have to wait for yours.

I hear ya about customer service. I got my fill of it working at the Department of Highway Safety. People are mean, irrational, demanding, and ignorant and dealing with them every day is my idea of Hell. If I can help it, I'm never going to work a customer service type job again. I'm not fussy about the type of cookie so whatever you choose to whip up is fine with me.

That's great Danielle! I'd a feeling you'd get it, why would they pass up such a fabulous find??!! They knew better! *patiently awaits oatmeal raisin cookie drop*

Re: Congrats!
Anyway, I know many of you are probably thinking, “damn, this girl changes jobs more than some people change their underwear…” Pika isn't the only one with a little psychic blood running through her veins because this is exactly what I thought when I saw the thread title. Congrats on the new job, Danielle. Not working with the public rocks!

WOOOHOOO!!! Congrats!!  Working with the public can suck at times. I was picking up a script for my mom yesterday when some jackass was obnoxiously rude to the Pharmacist. So, after I paid for my script, I walked by him and informed him he did not need to be such an arogant jackass. I told him he had no right to be snotty to her and cuss her out simply because he could not read the effing sign as to which line to get into. One sign says PRESCRIPTION DROP OFF, the other CONSULTATION, and yet another says PRESCRIPTION PICK UP. MMMMMMM... if I'm picking up a script... whichever line do I get into???? So, I told him perhaps he should take a reading class before being snotty with someone for something he screwed up on. I do believe she was a bit grateful someone told him off since she wasn't able to. I cannot stand rude obnoxious customer people. WOOOOOHOOOOO for not having to work with them anymore!! YAY!!!!

La Belle- 06-04-2006

I've been able to tell people off lately, it's been awesome. I figured at this point I have nothing to lose, so why the hell not. In arizona perscriptions expire after a year. (this is important because some states it's 2, or 3...) Anyway, this guy walks in cocky as can be with his daughter and wife. Once he gets to the counter he informs Jennie that he wants to get new glasses, and it was defintely less than a year since he got his exam. It was June 3rd, he had his exam June 1st, 2005. So it's expired. The conversation went something like this.. Jennie: I'm sorry, your perscription is expired. Jackass: I don't care, we're going to go with that perscription. My eyes havent changed. Jennie: We can't do that. Jackass: Well why the hell not? I figure, I've had enough of all the arrogant pieces of white trash that walk into our store and demand shit for nothing.. I chime in, in the bitchest tone I could muster (not hard, I know) Because it's expired *glare* jackass: well we're going somewhere else. me: and you're going to need an exam. at this point, i've won. this guy gives a big enough sigh to blow the entire building down.....walks out, and slams our door shut. another happy customer.

Woohooo To La Belle for pissing the Jackass off. Always a good feeling!

Rufus- 06-04-2006

Congrats D! One of the things I admire about you is that you ALWAYS have a job regardless of whether or not you stay long or don't like it. You persevere and keep looking to find someone that fits for you. Good on ya, girl!!!! And while the money is nice to have, put your studies first, I insist on that with my kids, get your degree and then you can work for the rest of your life in your chosen career!! It's well worth it, just ask my daughter who just graduated college and got an awesome job in career choice. Sorry to brag in your thread, but sometimes I can't help myself, much to the dismay of others!!!!

La Belle- 06-04-2006

Absoutely. This semester I'll only be working 24 hours (vs. the 40+ that I was working last semester). I'm hoping that I'll be able to enjoy my work and schooling this time.
