Don't know. The first thing that comes to my mind today is mythological creatures, like dragons, mermaids, pegasus, satyrs, etc.

Or we could do an astrology theme and people could choose an avatar of their sun sign, their element (fire, earth, water, air), their gemstone, their flower or their planet. Horoscope-related stuff.
