For some reason bmp images hosted at photobucket don't post on message boards. You have to convert the image to a jpg to post it here.

It's not just photobucket. You can't post any .bmp. They're too big.

I'm Dr. Lu Delgado from (you guessed it) Strong Medicine. I'm not like her, but I wish I was.

I was thinking that another theme that might be fun to do is bumper stickers and vehicles. We could display one of our favorite bumper stickers in our signature line and have an avatar of a vehicle that would have that, for instance Tif could have someone on a motorcycle as her avatar and a bumper sticker saying for a motorcyclist in her signature line.

Of course Harpers are cool. I wish I had a fraction of Menolly's talent! I love Pern, too. You may have already figured that out if you paid attention to my e-mail address for the TAR quizzes. One of these days I'd like to get to DragonCon in Atlanta to meet Ms. McCaffrey and get her to sign my Harper Hall trilogy for sure, and maybe others. I'm sure other people have told her "I'm your biggest fan!" but they are all wrong, because I am! I assume from your post that you have read some/all of the Pern novels. Which novel(s) do you like best? Which character is your favorite?

I have read all but the very latest. And the Harpers were my favorite...But Robinton was my very favorite. Menolly was very an intense character...but reading them as a teen, I didn't bond to the teenage girl character as much. I liked the Harpers because I am more of a "man of intellect" than a "man of action" like a Dragonrider. Besides...any bardic-type character tends to have a bit of lovable-rogue in him. You can't help but like them!
And if you are ever going to tell Ms. McCaffrey about being her biggest fan...you'd better get on the stick! She's NOT getting any younger!
(IF you ever decide to go to Dragoncon...tell me. I'd go and stand in line too! I only live 2 hours from Atlanta and I need an excuse to go!)

I'll be there soon...I have to finish tying on my bandana and cutting the fingers out of my gloves. Plus, I'm hot on the trail of an evil, rich, criminal mastermind who has stolen (at one time or another) my girlfriend, my brother, my sister-in-law...etc.

BTW...the word Salem translates from Hebrew as "Peace."

There ain't NOTHING PEACEFUL about Salem.

Except you.........Hopette.

I always liked him but I liked him even more after reading The Masterharper of Pern. I agree with all your points of bards vs. dragonriders. Maybe that is why F'nor is my favorite dragonrider...he's got a good sense of humor and is much less stuffy than F'lar. Hmm, the more I think about it, maybe I like T'gellan best.

I know that Ms. McCaffrey is getting up there in years. I probably won't be able to get to this year's DragonCon but if not this year, next year for sure. I'll definitely have to give you a call when I go.

I'm a little late to the new avater theme, but after thinking long and hard about it, I chose this character. Because if I was going to be a character in anything, I'd like to be her. Should be an easy guess!

It just tells you I've watched far too much tv

Princess Poopypants- 05-03-2005

I finally got around to updating my avatar for this weeks theme. Anyone want to take a guess as to who he is? And, if you don't know, you should be ashamed!!!

pika- 05-03-2005

I don't know but I'm not ashamed. He looks like he's just done one of those stupid "Got Milk?" commercials. I swear that looks like a milk mustache on his face.

Princess Poopypants- 05-03-2005

Shameful.
