I like yours, Tara! Although you don't strike me as the Scarlett O'Hara type. Maybe the hardheaded after-the-war Scarlett, but not the Southern belle Scarlett, flirting with all the men.

My new avatar is my favorite character from Anne McCaffrey's Pern novels. Her name is Menolly and she is surrounded by her 9 fire lizards (Beauty, Rocky, Diver, Brownie, Mimic, Lazy Bones, Auntie 1, Auntie 2, Uncle).

No, Scarlett was a user of men, and I've never been that way. But I loved her!! She was STRONG underneath that southern belle facade. She did what she had to do to survive. She is my favorite fictional character.

I watched this actress in a show last night and what she does with the character in my avatar is fantastic.

I don't know a lot of the avatars this time. Brinna told us what hers is but I'm not familiar with the character and the picture isn't clear enough for me to make it out.

I have no idea who DarStar and bookie chose so I'll have to let someone else guess who they are.

At least I do know Rufus and Tara's so I don't feel like a total dummy.

I just changed my avatar today for Arbor Day. I'll change it back tonight or tomorrow.

I knew DarStar's was Al Pacino in Scarface, but I don't know Bookie's.

The hint and the fact that the woman looks like she's from the old west makes me think that maybe it's someone in Deadwood? :smile:

I'd never seen the actress in anything else until last night. She was on CSI. I wasn't even sure it was her at first...but wow. I've always loved how she played the character on Deadwood, and it just showed what a fantastic actress she is. She is as deserving as Ian McShane who plays Swerengen.

You may have already figured that out if you paid attention to my e-mail address for the TAR quizzes. One of these days I'd like to get to DragonCon in Atlanta to meet Ms. McCaffrey and get her to sign my Harper Hall trilogy for sure, and maybe others. I'm sure other people have told her "I'm your biggest fan!" but they are all wrong, because I am! :grin: I assume from your post that you have read some/all of the Pern novels. Which novel(s) do you like best? Which character is your favorite?
