August 23 live feeds Big Brother: All Stars, August 23 Live Feeds – Drinking and Flirting
by Teeuwynn Woodruff -- 08/24/2006
There are no competitions or ceremonies to be held on Wednesday, so that just leaves room for drinking and flirting… and flirting and drinking… and an occasional bit of strategy. Is it clear who’s going home yet? Who is doing the drinking? And who is doing the flirting? Read on to find out! Warning: This article contains spoiler information!
The all powerful gods of Big Brother let the houseguests sleep in this morning until shortly after 9:00 am. Then they send the tarantulas to crawl on the houseguests’ faces and wake them up. Just kidding. Obviously, I’ve had too much coffee this morning. Instead, the producers wake the houseguests with some slightly odd music.
Everyone slowly begins rising for the day. George and Mike are the first to actually get out of bed. Mike Boogie starts washing some dishes, other houseguests brush their teeth and take showers. Big Brother calls Mike to the diary room and he trundles off to chat with them.
After Boogie gets back from the diary room, he goes outside to eat his breakfast. Will is up and joins him out there for some strategy talk. He tells Boogie that the producers let Janelle and him stay in the diary room together for about two hours last night. He indicates that this was fun. Boogie asks if Will got to snuggle in the chair with Janelle. Will said he did. But he hastens to add that he was only doing it to keep up the charade with Janelle. You know, Will’s so darn good at this game that it’s sometimes difficult to tell when he’s being truthful. It seems likely from his diary room confessionals that he actually likes and respects Janelle, but I’m not sure whether I buy it. Hmmm…
Will goes on to say that he’s sure Janelle is going to continue to fight hard in the game. He says that Janelle realizes that she needs to go to the end game with Chill Town to have any chance at all to win. I think Janelle knows her chances of actually winning are very slim given the way much of the rest of the house feels about her.
Will emphasizes to Mike that he trusts Janelle the most in terms of “splitting the banana bread.” Presumably, he means splitting the money – which houseguests are normally not allowed to do. Mike and Will have been doing a lot of scheming in the house around this topic. I wonder if they actually are interested in doing this, or if it’s a ruse to get other houseguests to share the money if they win. I thought they’d get in trouble with this, but Jun Song, the winner of Big Brother 4, says that this year the houseguests’ contracts say that splitting the money is okay. If she’s right, it might explain their willingness to talk like this.
Will’s still hanging with Boogie outside. He says that Janelle plans on going somewhere and crying if Will wins HOH this week – as part of the plan. Will comments that the only thing Janelle really still worries about with Chill Town is if Will gets sent packing and she’s alone with Boogie. Janelle doesn’t entirely trust Mike to carry out the plan with her. Yeah, I wouldn’t trust any man named “Boogie.” It’s a policy I have. And, definitely, never ever shake his hand.
Will goes back outside and George joins Boogie outside. Mike Boogie asks George how he’s feeling about tomorrow’s eviction ceremony. George says he’s feeling good, and Boogie says George needs to win HOH tomorrow so he can set the house rocking again. George comments that it’s weird to see his bags packed and ready to go. He thinks for awhile before telling Boogie that he’s lost a lot of weight. Boogie asks how much. George thinks he’s lost about 20 pounds. Good for George! Boogie says he can tell people he lost the weight by eating “cement and dust” for three months. I’m not sure George’s going to get on the diet book best seller lists with, If Chicken George Can Eat Slop for 60 Days – So Can You! But you never know. Remember the grapefruit diet?
George and Mike talk about how George has been on slop for 27 days now. Yikes! Boogie doesn’t know how George is doing it. A lot of the houseguests make fun of George, but it has to take a lot of willpower for him to chug on eating that gunk. Yes, he’s had a few reprieves with his HOH and one or two other things, but that’s not much.
Will and Janelle are now in the bug room. Janelle is cuddled in a blanket, while Will paces around. Will is whispering to Janelle about a conversation he had with Danielle earlier. He says that Danielle told him she’s going after Janelle. Then she told Will she wouldn’t go after Chill Town next week if they left her alone. Janelle asks if Danielle realizes James is going home now? Will says that he thinks she does because Danielle’s been sitting off to herself looking really sad. Will then says, “Good talk last night, by the way. Is that okay?... Today, it’s still okay?” Janelle says it’s okay. Hmmm… Sounds like an interesting conversation. I wonder if he’s talking about what happened between them in the diary room? Will leaves to go talk to Boogie, and Janelle leaves the room a few seconds later.
Erika joins Chicken George and Mike Boogie on the patio now. George asks them if they want any of the silly items he brought to the house. They both politely decline, so George says he’ll pack them up too. James comes out too. He starts chatting about his season and Richard Hatch ending up in jail (and in the Reality Hall of Shame) for not paying taxes on his winnings. Will comes back and the talk turns to other reality shows. Have you noticed that reality show folks really like talking about reality shows?
Will then turns the conversation to last night. He says when he walked into the HOH room he really thought he interrupted something between Boogie and Erika. Boogie and Erika jump to deny anything was going on, but Will is pretty sure he saw something. The houseguests on the porch go on to discuss how drunk they all were last night.
Throughout the morning, the producers call different houseguests to the diary room. Apparently, they’re giving their usual house comments and sending potential goodbye messages to George and James.
The house chat on the patio breaks up a bit. Boogie and James end up alone. James asks Mike some more questions about what went on between him and Erika in the HOH room last night. He asks whether they became the second couple in Big Brother history (well, American Big Brother history anyway) to have sex in the house. Mike says it didn’t go that far. But he indicates there was definitely something going on. The two talk about the first couple to have sex there and then go into a nice little morning chat about sex. Whee.
Around lunch time, a lot of the houseguests are playing some kind of card game outside. Will talks to Danielle briefly in the bathroom about booting James this week. Danielle says she really wants George to go. Danielle says George wants her out, so she wants him to go this week.
A bit later, Mike Boogie and Will are in the HOH room. They talk some more about handling Danielle. Will saw her coming out of the diary room crying earlier today. He’s really concerned that she’s going to tell or otherwise indicate to James that Chill Town wants him out this week. Boogie says Chill Town might not be able to boot James without Danielle’s aid. Will insists, “There’s no turning back because if he stays he’ll really come after me.” Boogie agrees.
Will and Mike go over the votes for this week. They confirm their belief that both Janelle and Erika are voting to evict James this week. Boogie says if the vote ends up 2-2 then that should worry them. Presumably, because it will show they’re not as much in control of the game as they hope they are. Will worries that if too many people start talking to each other things could go south for Chill Town. Boogie says that people won’t talk and it will be okay.
Will goes and confirms both Erika’s and Janelle’s votes yet again. Will is very worried about Danielle letting James in on the plans to evict him.
A little after noon, James and Danielle are on the patio after cooking and eating lunch. Poor Danielle still looks really sad. She keeps snuffling and sniffling and looking generally miserable. They start talking about the game. Danielle says James has to win HOH this week. James thinks the Season Six folks would be in charge of the house if only they had gotten rid of Chill Town earlier in the game. Danielle’s not entirely sure of that, since you never know what would have happened with another mix of houseguests. But James says he knows it's true.
Will watches Danielle and James talking in the backyard. He goes up to the HOH room with Erika. Boogie and Janelle join them. Will worries about Danielle telling James about the plan to evict him. Mike doesn't seem as worried. He says that Danielle won't talk, and even if she does there's nothing he can do about it. Will remains concerned about having other houseguests – particularly Danielle and James – talking to each other in isolation.
After a while, Will goes off to rest. Chicken George joins Danielle and James in the backyard. Danielle compliments George on his calves. George says he's happy his tummy's getting flatter. Danielle thinks George's wife will like it. While these three talk, Erika is roving the house counting things and practicing for competitions. Janelle does a lot of practice for competitions and it seems to work for her, so it might work for Erika too.
After some time, most of the houseguests get together to take pictures with Mike's HOH camera. They seem to be having fun taking pictures of each other – even Danielle. After the picture taking ends, James and Danielle start playing cards. The other houseguests are doing exciting, life-changing tasks such as laundry, making food, cleaning, etc. I don't know how they can stand the constant thrill that is existance in the Big Brother house!
As Danielle and James play cards, Danielle grumbles something about “they” better not screw her over. James tells Danielle she needs to nominate Will and Mike if James gets evicted this week. He says one of them needs to go.
The afternoon winds on with a lot of random conversations about old Big Brother seasons, what houseguests can sleep the most in the house, music, how the red room is cursed, clothing, and the family of invisible spider monkeys that make their home in the rafters of the Big Brother house. Well, I might have made that last one up. But I think that would be a nice change of conversational pace.
Late in the afternoon, Danielle talks to James again. She tells him that Will says James is going home tomorrow. Danielle says that if Janelle votes to keep James, then Danielle will support her after James is gone. James thinks that, even with a tie, Boogie will vote to keep him, so they should be in okay shape. Danielle half-heartedly agrees, but she's wearing sunglasses and doesn't exactly look enthusiastic. She knows what's up here.
Will and Janelle talk again. Will asks Janelle is she's really wedded to staying in the Miami area. She says she likes it there, but she could move if she really wanted to do so. Will says he loves L.A., but he could move too. He says his medical license is pending in that area of the country. They both smile and then go back to resting. Wow. I wonder what their respective significant others will think of that little exchange.
Early in the evening, Will and Boogie touch base again. Will emphasizes that Janelle needs to make the final three with them. He also reminds Mike that no matter what anyone questions them about, they have to “deny, deny, deny!” Now, does Will want Janelle in the final three with them because few of the jury will vote for her? Or because he's really developing feelings for her? Or both?
Around 8:00 pm, Danielle and Erika are talking in the red room. Danielle is now furious... at George. (Wow! She's really having a seriously emotional day!) She says she's going to get Chicken George! Erika carefully tries to talk her down, but Danielle is having none of it. Danielle thinks she and Erika protected George and then he didn't nominate Janelle when he had the chance. It makes her really, really mad.
Erika and Danielle try to confront George, but Janelle and other houseguests accidentally interrupt. George makes excuses and talks about having the money go to someone who really needs it. And we know George feels he needs money for his family! Janelle leaves and George explains further to Erika and Danielle. He reminds them that there's only one winner and says he really likes everyone in the house. This is hard for him! George says that you just have to vote out the person you think is most in the way of your winning. That's it.
George notes that Erika and Danielle probably know how they're going to vote already. Danielle says they don't – that's why she's been crying so much. Danielle point blank asks George if she needs to worry about him nominating her if he wins HOH next week. George doesn't give her a straight answer. He just tells her he's not very happy about something right now, and he hopes Danielle will trust him. George emphasizes again that Danielle has to do what's best for her before he leaves. Hmmm... I don't think that vague answer's going to earn him a lot of points with Danielle right now.
As soon as George leaves, Erika and Danielle discuss his answers. Erika tries to make George look better, but Danielle immediately points out that George wouldn't answer her about whether he'd nominate her or not. Erika knows, but her “gut” says to keep him. Erika and Danielle talk some more with Erika working on Danielle to soften her up towards George. I'm not sure it's working very well.
George pokes his head back in the room and blathers a few incoherent phrases about only having good players left in the game, but everyone's a good player. He retreats again and Danielle and Erika can only laugh. Danielle ends up saying that George told Erika she's safe and Danielle thinks she's safe with George. She thinks he'd vote to give it to whoever he felt needs the money the most. But who knows? Erika says that James is just too crafty and he has to leave now. They go around some more on George vs. James, with Erika pushing to evict James and Danielle wanting to get rid of George.
Meanwhile, Boogie goes up to George and asks what's going on in there. George says Erika and Danielle are debating who they should vote out this week. Boogie immediately works George over. He says that Danielle and Erika tell the nominated folks every week that if they stay it's because they saved them. It's what they do.
A little bit later, Mike Boogie finds Erika in the HOH room. He asks if Danielle is getting to her or if Erika's vote to evict James is still secure. Erika insists that she'll do whatever Boogie wants her to do. They talk some more, but it's basically all about Boogie ensuring Erika's vote.
The evening winds on with the houseguests puttering about the house and backyard. Will asks Janelle how she ended up being friends with Holly from Big Brother 5. Janelle says Holly called her. That's probably because Janelle is everything Holly wishes she could be – and smart too!
Janelle complains about her lack of sleep at night in the house. Other houseguests talk about having sessions with Dr. Zachary, the show's psychiatrist. Everyone likes her and wants to talk to her a lot. Danielle saw her today and that helped.
Big Brother provides the houseguests with beer and wine for the evening, which they definitely appreciate. Will and Janelle are chatting together a lot tonight for two people who are supposed to be pretending they don't really like each other. I wonder if Janelle really is getting under the evil Dr. Will's dermatologically correct skin? Janelle confesses to liking classical music, which surprises Will. She then says she doesn't listen to hip hop. Well, she listens to the classics “like Snoop Dog.” Snork.
Janelle asks Will to drink with her, but he says he's really sad right now. Janelle asks why and Will says it's because he'll be leaving next week. Janelle assures him this isn't true. I certainly hope it's not, because I find Will by far the best source of game play and entertainment in this show.
As the night goes on, the houseguests drink and talk about... drinking. Escorts, partying, and the like are also brought up. Will and Boogie touch base briefly. Will says that Janelle really likes him – he can't keep her off him. Boogie compliments Will's amazing skills. Will says he might have hooked her a little too hard, though. What is the truth here? It's so hard to tell with Will? Who's he lying to? Boogie? Janelle? Himself? Who knows?
Oh. And James chugs a beer in four seconds.
The guys engage in a beer chugging contest of sorts at a little past 11:00 in the evening. James is still the star of the Big Brother Beer Chugging show. All this drinking causes him to reminisce about college, and not incidentally gets him pretty drunk. Meanwhile, Janelle and Will sit on the couch while she encourages him to drink more wine. Janelle gets a bit touchy-feely and Will puts a bunch of pillows between them to form a safe zone, of sorts.
Many of the houseguests are getting a wee bit drunk tonight. After Will and Janelle flirt for awhile, Will gets up and runs over to where Erika and Mike Boogie are playing pool. He gleefully jumps up on the pool table. Will claims to be practicing for the next HOH competition. There’s some laughter, but the Voice of Authority echoes from the speakers, telling Will to “Stop that!”
Will ignores Big Brother for a little while, kicking the pool balls with his feet into the pockets. Then he jumps off the table and gets in the hot tub. Will continues to complain that he – and James – are bored. He asks the women in the house to remove their tops. (Pardon me while I pause to crank the sarcasm knob up to 11. Done.) Surprisingly, the ladies in the house keep their shirts on despite Will’s sweet, gentlemanly request for them to relieve themselves of their upper textile accoutrements! (Okay. Sarcasm knob cranked down again.)
Mike Boogie heads up to try to sleep in the HOH room. James proves his drunken state by spitting beer on Danielle. She says that is gross and tells him to go spit on the white people in the house. Next, there’s a lot of flirting and some spin the bottle in the hot tub.
After a while, most of the houseguests leave the hot tub. Will and Janelle are left alone there. She tries to flirt with and touch him some more, but Will says she likes him too much. Janelle decides to go inside with the others. Danielle comes back out and Will says she has to help him because Janelle is trying to have a “ho-mance” with him. Even drunk, Will can make jokes!
Will tells Danielle he thinks Janelle wants to win the HOH this week just so she can evict him. He says he’s worried. Danielle tells Will she and Janelle have a one-week truce next week, so Janelle won’t boot her. Danielle emphasizes to Will that, if James is going home this week, he needs to tell her.
Erika and other houseguests go upstairs and bang on the HOH door and walls to disturb Boogie. He groans and makes a rude gesture at them before they happily, and drunkenly, trundle off.
A little after 1:00, James comes out of the diary room. He says that the producer in there suggested he go to bed now. So, he’s going. Snork. But first, James drunkenly claims to Danielle that he’s going to stay tomorrow and then win HOH. After that, he’ll nominate Boogie and Erika and then show Janelle the backdoor. Danielle helps James get into bed. She’s being such a mom here! She even gets James a glass of water when he asks. James says that Big Brother is going to give them nine beers tomorrow and he’s going to chug every one of them. Whee! Danielle tucks James in bed. She turns to the camera and says, “Sorry, Sarah!” I think Sarah should thank Danielle. She’s taking care of James for her, and James really needs it tonight.
Despite his supposed concerns that Janelle likes him too much, Will takes a shower with Janelle (clothed) as the other houseguests get ready for bed. They stay in the bathroom for a very long time, close to an hour, before coming out and getting ready for bed. Janelle tries to get Will to keep her company, but he kisses her cheek and turns in. Janelle stays up a while longer before, once again, being the last houseguest to go to bed for the night.
To sum up, Danielle really doesn’t want James to leave, but that looks like the most likely outcome of this week’s vote. I don’t think it’s a hundred percent locked yet, though. Will and Janelle are doing a lot of flirting. It’s always a bit unclear how much is real and how much is strategy with these two. Chill Town seems to continue to run the house, but they know they’re in a precarious position. James doesn’t seem to know how likely it is he’s going home tomorrow. But he sure knows how to chug beer.
