August 17 live feeds Big Brother: All Stars, August 17 Live Feeds – Double Trouble
by Joel Hardy -- 08/18/2006
It’s eviction day in the house and everyone is walking on eggshells. Things do not get any better when the new HOH has to make two nominations on the spot. And then things only get worse when the veto competition is held that same night! Also, what has Danielle so upset? Warning: This article contains spoiler information!
We all know what today, Thursday, is! That’s right, it’s eviction day, for either Marcellas or Erika. Well, assuming that the coup power is not used, if so, it could be anyone. I love it! So let’s see what is going on in the house shall we?
As usual, Danielle is the first one awake. She goes to the storage room to change the batteries on her microphone and then shuffles into the bathroom to do her morning routine. Marcellas soon joins her, looking miserable, but he decides to do some campaigning. Marcellas tells her that he thought James had some crazy agenda. Danielle says that she had a talk with them, but had something going on in the back of her head. Marcellas just sighs and tells her that if they think that Erika can get them further in the game, then by all means, they should keep her, but he also adds that if they keep him, they do not have to worry about him waffling. With that, Marcellas bows to Danielle in an overdramatic way, and goes back to bed.
Danielle showers and gets dressed, walks around the house a bit, and then joins Erika in the bedroom. They talk about how the person who goes home this week gets the same amount of money as the person who gets third place – all jury members get the same amount. They think that the money should get higher the longer they are in the house, and I agree. Erika decides that her roots need touching up, and goes about the process of coloring her hair herself. Which I can only image cannot be easy. Danielle gives her latex gloves, but does not otherwise offer to help.
We get a brief feed of Will and Mike in the bathroom talking about if Mike gets HOH, he would put up Janelle and… we get flames for some reason.
Later, Howie, Janelle, Will, and a few others chat at the dining room table. Will suggests Howie adopt a new persona to go with his new look. More refined and sophisticated. Someone suggests that Howie become more aggressive. Howie more aggressive? I don’t think that’s possible. After that comment, the meeting pretty much breaks up and everyone starts cleaning the house and primping, getting ready for the love show I suppose.
Mike and Will hold a “production” meeting. They agree that this week had more material than ever before. What with the cake fight, Howie’s mustache, and spin the bottle. They have made some good TV. Danielle comes in, and they ask her if Marcellas knows that he is going tonight. Danielle does not think so; she is voting him out for sure now, no more switching. Danielle feels comfortable getting rid of him because he went after her in week two.
Cut to what remains of the season six alliance. Janelle has finally realized that Chill Town has been using her all along, and now she is trying franticly to find a way to keep Marcellas in the house. James and Howie both say that they will vote out Erika. That’s all well and good, boys, but with six people voting, you still need two more votes for a majority. Janelle goes to talk with Marcellas in the red room, and he says that Danielle is voting to keep him. Poor Marcellas, he has no idea.
Janelle runs back to the boys to tell them this, and they decide that if Danielle votes to evict Erika, they will all know that she was playing them. You should have known before now! Janelle simply cannot believe that Chill Town lied to her. This is the same Janelle who owns a deed for some oceanfront property in Nebraska. James agrees with me when he asks Janelle if she has ever seen this show before!
Mike and Will are outside, working out and talking about the coup. They talk about the possibility that the winner will not be allowed to tell anyone. They agree that if Mike has won it, he will not tell anyone what it is, only that it’s an individual power that can help a group. They are worried that Marcellas will get it, but Will sums it all up by making the statement that they are making too many assumptions about this power. Will worries that Janelle is playing him as much as he is playing her. I really don’t think you have to worry about that, Will!
We go back to Marcellas in the red room talking to Danielle. He says that George and Howie have told him that they will vote to keep him. Danielle tells him that Janelle put him in harms way. Marcellas cannot understand how a “friend” could put him up, and then tempt the others to vote him out. Danielle agrees, though it sucks. They both shut up while Marcellas starts yet another game of solitaire.
We go to flames for a very long time. It is probably because they are setting up for the live show tonight, or they are doing the “prom,” or both.
When we get back, as you all know by watching the live show, or reading David Bloomberg’s recap, Marcellas was evicted by a vote of 6-0 (meaning you can read David’s Why Marcellas Lost as well), George became the new HOH, and the houseguests found out that it is a double eviction week. Having been put on the spot, and no doubt wishing he had not finally won a HOH, George nominated Erika and James.
Will, Mike, and James are talking about it in the gym. Mike is saying that George was the worse possible HOH to do a live nomination. Mike also says that they can try and talk him into backdooring Janelle. James fully agrees with this plan, and starts selling that idea to the others.
Janelle is still in full prom queen mode, though she looks pretty serious. Everyone is gathered around rehashing the competition. Howie says that he missed four questions and George says he wrote on the black cloth instead of the blackboard at the end.
Erika, Danielle, James, and Mike are in the gym chatting. Erika says that George told her that Danielle is going up if one of them gets taken off by the veto. Erika asks who is playing for veto, and is told that there is no choice anymore. Erika thinks if her or James come down, Danielle will go up and be backdoored. James swears he is about to go off on Howie, George, and Janelle, and he is seriously going to hurt their feelings. In James’ mind, he is blaming Janelle and Howie for those nominations. Er, maybe he nominated you because you nominated him earlier, James.
Erika says that George owes them. Danielle apologizes, saying that she let them down. James tells her that it is not her fault, but you can tell that he is lying to her. Talk then turns into bullying and intimidating George into backdooring Janelle. They are going to tell George that if he doesn’t do it, he will be the one going home.
Elsewhere, Janelle is saying that she was sure that Danielle was going to get the tiebreaker, she was really worried. Marcellas was the hardest goodbye, she says. Will says that it was because he was a hypocrite and showed his true colors when he walked out the door and didn’t hug anyone. Janelle still wishes he had said goodbye to her. George isn’t sure if he can eat or not, so he decides to wait and get a ruling on it.
James keeps saying that Janelle and Howie didn't even say "I'm sorry" to Erika; they just ran straight to George. Danielle leaves the gym and asks George if he is planning to backdoor her, and he says no. She tells him that that is all she wants to know, and is going with the flow.
Danielle and George are in the kitchen. Danielle warns him that he doesn’t know what kind of power he has, and he doesn’t want to piss the wrong people off. George states matter of factly that he has been alone this long, what difference does it make now?
Janelle, Will, and Howie are in the bug room. Janelle says that she saw James throw the competition. Will says that George told him that he made his nominations because he owed it to Janelle and Howie. He says that George’s nominations were acceptable, so they should just move on. Someone suggests that if one of them wins the veto, it should not be used. Howie agrees. There is much whispering going on, but from what I can hear, they are agreeing to vote out James this week.
James and Erika are alone in the gym venting. James says that he will win the next HOH and put up Howie and George because Janelle will already be gone. He says that if George dares ask him why, he will tell him that he made deals with the wrong people. Erika leaves soon enough, and James starts talking to himself. He mutters that you gotta do what you gotta do, and that it is just a game. Maybe he can make himself believe that.
Soon, he leaves and joins Howie in the bug room. They start talking about Marcellas. James tells Howie that he is smarter than he is pretending to be. Howie asks if that is because he sold Marcellas out. James tells him that he didn’t sell out Marcellas, the only person who did that was Janelle. Howie reassures James that he has the votes to stay with himself, Janelle, and Danielle. He is safe if George does not get the veto.
Will and Erika are in the storage room. Will tells her that if he wins veto, he can’t play it because he doesn’t want Mike to go up. Will says that they will figure out something.
Danielle ponders calling a truce with Janelle. Erika says that Janelle has no power, and they agree to talk to her tonight. Then they start discussing the nominations. Danielle says that George really needs to tell people what is on his mind.
Howie is asking if Julie hates him, James says yes, because Howie doesn't shut up. He says he bothers her because she wants to get on with her show. Howie sounds really concerned about this, and James is just being a jerk.
It seems that James did indeed throw the competition to let Danielle win, but it backfired on him. He starts practicing his threatening speech to George.
George is telling Howie and Janelle that he is totally in the game now. Janelle thanks George for thinking of them during his nominations. George states that he could not have done that to Howie, and Howie goes on to tell George that his alliance sold him out last week.
Mike and James are in the gym. Mike asks him if he trusts Howie and Janelle, and he says no, but he trusts him, Danielle, and Will. He wants Mike to scope out Janelle’s feelings on voting him out this week. He also says that he is going to pick Will for veto. He doesn't want to pick Danielle because he thinks it will look like he's trying to save her if she wins the veto. James says that he pulled George aside and told him that he had a feeling that those nominations were not his, and George did not deny it.
Janelle says that she thinks James threw the competition. Janelle finally catches up with the rest of the house! Howie says that James and Danielle clearly have a deal.
The Thursday pizza has arrived, and it looks like George can eat after all. Good for him! Later, Danielle and Erika are talking in the red room. Danielle introduces her thing to Erika: Is George going to backdoor Janelle or Howie? Erika says no, he said he "owed them."
George gets to go into his room, and he tears up when he reads a letter from his daughter. He offers everyone drinks, but no one takes one except Danielle the lush. Danielle and Erika are in the red room. It seems as if Danielle has told Erika that she is slated to go on Sunday. Erika thinks George took all the things she did to him personally and she tears up – I laugh my butt off – and we both say together, everyone with me now, "It's JUST a game."
George was called into the diary room. When he returns, he calls everyone into the living room for the picking for the veto competition. Then we go to flames.
It turns out that George picked Howie, Erika picked Danielle, and James picked Will, and then we get flames again. When we return, we see Erika trying to lay the guilt on George. She says that she thought George was in her alliance. George says no, they would talk and leave him out of it. She tells him that he doesn’t have to worry about snoring up in the HOH room.
They are getting ready for the veto – Erika says she hopes it’s not too strenuous because she is tired – I say bring on the spider web.
Will and Mike are talking to George in the HOH room. Mike tells him that he should not be pressured, and that he should sleep on it as well.
Conveniently forgetting that she used her friend James as a pawn, Danielle tells Erika you should never nominate someone you don't want to see leave. "You can put me up," she says, "but you'll never get my vote. You'll never get my vote." She has a tendency to say things twice. It makes them sound more profound, I guess. The two of them are now using the playing cards to parse the various post-veto scenarios. "If Will goes up against me, I'm screwed," says Erika, and Danielle agrees. Danielle wonders who George will put up if James wins veto. They get so frustrated that they pick up the cards and start shuffling, and I laugh.
Mike keeps trying to tell George how to act, trying to get rid of Janelle and supporting Danielle. He says Janelle wants to put up him and Danielle next week. James joins the party and starts his butt kissing to George. He tells him that he is a badass and his family looks wholesome. George looks nonplused for someone having smoke blown up his butt. We then go to flames as the veto competition occurs.
When we get back, Danielle and George are talking and doing some crosswords, and it appears that Danielle did not win the veto because she and George are arguing and she is pleading her case big time, talking about how she always defended him. George says that he doesn’t know what he is going to do. She tells him to do what is best for him.
Erika is complaining about being nominated for the second week in a row. Janelle points out that she didn’t do it this week, and Howie says that he hasn’t done it at all!
Danielle keeps trying to get George to tell her if he is putting her up. He keeps asking why she told him to vote out Erika then. Every once in a while, she starts to leave, and tells him to do what he wants. Danielle says if he does nominate her... George says that he knows she will go after him. She says no. She keeps trying to save him and tell people to leave him alone. She won't be able to do that anymore. He keeps bringing up how she lied to him and she keeps saying if he is going put her up, put her up.
James has won the veto, and the streak of nominees winning the veto continues. To say that he is happy would be a lie through gross understatement.
Danielle is complaining to Erika that she laid everything out to George and he still did not get it. She firmly believes that George is going to put her up, and there is no use at all for Erika to try and talk to him, it’s over. Danielle says she's protected George, and has told everyone to leave him alone. Says she's done, but he won't get her vote.
Up in the HOH room James advises George not to look so depressed; don't let everyone know that he didn't want HOH. George throws James some candy. James says there have to be more people he hates besides himself. George doesn't hate anyone. He asks if James wants something to drink. He declines due to caffeine content. In this way, James is smarter than me.
James wants to know why he was nominated. George is going to break it down and has James lock the door. Janelle cut him slack. George likes James' alliance. I don’t know which alliance he is referring to, but whatever. He says again Janelle has cut him some slack... not nominated him twice. No, three times George. James breaks in to say there are a lot of people Janelle hasn't nominated. George says he likes Howie. James says he's a good guy sometimes, and has a good heart. George says it's a game, in his life he goes by what is personal. He's sorry, that's just how he is. James was the only one who nominated him and that's all it was. He has no beef against James whatsoever.
George says he went through the game so far and no one helped him much at all, just a little here and there. He went through and looked for the people who treated him better or worse. James says he thinks George is leaving a lot out. George says again that he is never included in meetings. James has no idea why Erika was nominated, and assumes it was because George thought everyone would keep her over him.
Mike and Will are in the gym. They decide that they can keep George and that the next two people that leave will be Janelle and Erika. Will says that Janelle and Erika are the best competitors in the house.
George wants to go through the scenarios. If he puts up Janelle, how will the votes go? Erika says everyone will vote her out except Howie. She says if he puts up Howie, it would be the same thing. If he puts up Danielle, she doesn't know how Chill Town would vote or how James would vote. George says, "All right, Erika, I'll tell you what we'll do. I'm going to have a hard time with Danielle. The only thing I knew before I came in here was a piece of paper that Teresa gave me, and your name was the only one on it. I was advised to line up with you. So from now on, I'll work with you, and I'll tell you what you want to know, and you'll keep me informed." Erika tells him that he has a deal. It sounds like George is going to go after Janelle, and I do not want to be around when Howie finds that out! Danielle tells Erika that Janelle thinks she is staying, and how ironic it is that George is the one that is getting rid of her.
Eventually, finally, everyone starts to settle down for the night. After some late night snacking and some bathroom routines, the houseguests go to bed. George seems to be restless in his bed, I guess he is not used to the comfortable HOH bed. Goodnight houseguests!
So, what did we learn today? Marcellas was evicted by a 6-0 vote, George won HOH and found out that he had to make on the spot nominations as it was a double elimination week, and he nominated James and Erika. The veto competition was held, and it was won by James, thus forcing George to think about replacement nominations. Nothing is for sure yet, but it seems like he is leaning toward putting up Janelle, as he made a deal with Erika.
