April 5th show...no spoilers
The show sucks tonight IMO. There have been 3 performances so far and Constantine was the best IMO....whats that tell you? What is up with Paula...I know someone asks that every week. But this week she sounds like she is on the verge of tears every time she speaks. On Access Hollywood (I think), I guess it was a producer, said of tonights (dont want to spoil for some) theme...they are looking for someone that will be around in 10 years and can do more than one genre. They dont want a one hit wonder. To that I say...they must be disappointed so far with their winners.

I haven't been watching tonight, trying to study (darn distractions!) but I have it on in the background. I heard after Anthony's performance (didn't hear the actual singing) Simon tear him apart again and lots of booing. My questions is, was he really that bad? I know he's not the greatest, but i think Simon is incredibly harsh on him, especially compared to some of the others. Anyway, it may have been justified tonight, like I said I haven't watched, but Simon really seems to have it out for him! Anyone else noticed this? Anyway, if someone can give a run down of the performances I'll love you forever! Don't make me go over there to get Armagedn's report! :wink:

Can we get someone to put a muzzle on Paula? I get so sick of her interrupting Simon when he's giving his critique of the contestants. He sits quietly and respects her and Randy when they're giving their review so Paula needs to do the same and put a sock in it!!! :evil:

I'm going to add my opinion of tonight's performances. It shouldn't be spoiler information because the West coast should have seen it by now. In order from worst to best: ANTHONY - "Climb Every Mountain"?? Buh-bye Anthony! As terrible as Scott was tonight, this was just WRONG!!! You don't do a disco version of "Climb Every Mountain"!! YUCK!! Scott was at least trying to do justice to "The Impossible Dream". Paula is insane...it was not a "good job". Simon was on the mark..."hideous". SCOTT - Absolutely awful and if he wasn't being backed by a good melody and a loud orchestra, he would have been really dreadful. I love the song "The Impossible Dream" but it's a difficult song and too tough for Scott. NIKKO - Why would he pick a duet?? The female voice over drown out Nikko's last note. I also thought his "costume" choice didn't fit the song. For me, Nikko's performance was "a'right". CONSTANTINE - This was his best performance but it still had a weak ending and he was mugging to the cameras too much. However, overall it was a nice rendition of the song. ANWAR - He picked a lovely song and again demonstrated that he has the best voice of all the men. Anwar's weakness is that he picks songs that are nice songs and will play to his vocal strengths but not always give him much to work with performance-wise. BO - For randomly picking a song (if that's how he really did it), he ended up wit one that suited him. Not only could he demonstrate his singing ability but it was up tempo and allowed him to "get into" the song more than Anwar could with his ballad choice. I disagree with Simon on this one...it was not "a mess". VONZELL - She looked lovely as usual. Taking on Barbra?? Dangerous but she did it well...much better than Mikalah did a few weeks ago. NADIA - She gave a very torch singer style performance but it was quite good. I liked her dress choice. CARRIE - For me it was a toss up among the ladies but I thought they were all better than the men. Carrie looked very pretty and chose a song that really showcased her vocals. I agree with Simon that it was "old-fashioned" but I disagree that this is a bad thing. "Old" doesn't necessarily mean "bad". Since tonight had a Musicals theme, I expected more than one "old-fashioned" performance since many of the famous American musicals are period pieces. If any of the women are in the bottom three vote getters, then too many voters are voting for reasons other than singing/performing ability. The one to get the boot should either be Scott or Anthony.

I have to disagree about Constantine's performance. It sounded to me like the band was playing a different song than the one he was singing. :? I didn't like his version of that song at all. But then again just about everything about Constantine repulses me. :roll: Anthony was one of my favorites in the beginning but he's had too many disappointing performances in a row. It's time for him to go. :sad:

I think that: Constantine - had his best performance and I agree with Randy that he's finally being himself. Scott - was bad. I like Scott and usually find myself defending him, but his performance wasn't good at all. Bo - made me agree with Simon. I think he was a definite frontrunner and has gone down a few pegs in the past couple of weeks. Anthony - although I think Simon was (and is always) too harsh on him, I do think his performance was pretty bad. Nadia - I thought she looked beautiful and sounded good. Vonzell - I didn't think she had a great performance, but she wasn't bad. Nikko - I thought he did well, but could have done better. Anwar - He sounded great! Like Randy said, he's back. Carrie - Yes, she can sing, but she bored me to tears like she does every week.

For future reference ..... in Calgary (MST time) we get AI at 9:00 or 10:00. Tonight the results show is on at 10:00 I think. So that means that things should be labelled spoilers until at least 11:00 MST and I'm not sure about PST times. To be safe, I would suggest posting as spoilers anytime THAT EVENING in order to not spoil for others. It doesn't spoil for me because I don't go into any show forum on any board until the next morning because there are usually unmarked spoilers for every show on every board, except FORT!!!!! They're awesome at keeping their sites unspoiled - no offence to any other board!!!

I was pretty disappointed by all the performances. None of them made me say, "WOW that was good." Last night not only Paula was cutting Simon off, so was Ryan. And that is just wrong. We have to sit through Paula's ramblings. I wish she'd stay in her seat. Telling Constatine she is falling in love with him and wishing she could give him a hug is over the top. She was trying to pump up the audience on one person's performance and once while Randy was voicing his opinion she was encouraging the audience to boo his opinion. She would be pissed if they did that to her. She is out of control and extremely biased. I think the worst was Anthony's attempt at singing Climb Every Mountain. I love Sound of Music and felt he ruined the song.
