April 4 Epi Discussion I fell asleep last night and only woke up in time to see Chris, Katharine and Bucky. It seemed to me that the country genre was difficult at best for a great deal of them. From the recap, I didnt think Ace did well at all, or Elliot for that matter.
Chris has a fabulous voice and can afford an off night here and there, but I think Ace is on his way out. Either him or Elliot.

I was half watching/half playing at Pogo as usual. Ace actually didn't do too bad until her got to the end of the song and had to throw his falsetto crap in there. Kellie and Katharine weren't bad, either. Paris and Mandisa were terrible, definitely the fish out of water this week. Elliott and Bucky were just kind of meh. I don't even remember Chris's performance.

I wasn't impressed by the performances, but it was kind of nice to see everyone having a hard time stepping outside of their boxes (except Kellie and Bucky). And once again I didn't care for Elliott's performance but the judges praised him as usual. For some odd reason they think he is awesome vocally.

Re: Country Theme Night My least favorite three of the night were: Taylor, Paris, and Elliot. My three favorite were Chris, Mandissa, and Kellie. Katherine, Ace, and Bucky were somewhere in the middle. Actually, Katherine was pretty darn good, the song she picked was just a little too annoying.
Kellie was by far the best of the night. Taylor was by far the worst of the night.

I was very surprised to see Mandisa go this early in the competition. I think she's way better then Kellie, voice & personality, by leaps and bounds. I think she'll be one of those that goes on to have a very successful career in music, and she's prolly better off without AI, from what I hear, anyway.

Re: Mandissa I think Mandissa's early exit finally puts to rest the theory that Frenchie would've won season two if she hadn't been kicked off the show.
Face it, people just aren't into the type of music gals like Frenchie and Mandissa would put out. Sure, they have great voices and nice personalities, but not a lot of people are into that type of music. When was the last time you heard someone like Mandissa on a current music radio station?
Of course, sales also showed that people just weren't into Fantasia or Ruben either. And that didn't keep them from winning. :?
