Thursday, January 25, 2007I HAVE A HARD TIME SHARING
When Kendall repeated that he was Emma’s father, Ryan grabbed her arm and insisted she come with him. Zach shouted to let her go and tried to follow, but Josh told him to stay put, “Until that drug wears off, there’s a lot more truth to tell.”
Ryan brought Kendall to an empty room and demanded, “Emma, and you’ve known all this time that she was mine and you’ve never told me?” Kendall went on the offensive and demanded an apology for drugging her husband. Ryan angrily said she’d lied to him, but Kendall maintained for was only honoring his wishes and Annie’s; he hadn’t wanted anything to do with any children that were created from his sperm donation, and Annie never wanted to know who her daughter’s dad was.
Ryan angrily told her not to act like she was being noble, and wondered how the hell he ever loved her. This wasn’t about his being Spike’s father, but about her and her need to control his life again. She just had to be in charge! They agreed to be honest with each other so they could be the best parents they could be to their son. He should have known that she couldn't do it, “At least you're Zach's problem now, not mine. I mean, he's as into secrets as you are.” Kendall admitted she had a hard time sharing, but he wasn’t responsible for Emma, and Annie wouldn’t want to know. She was extremely grateful to him for all he’d done for her. When she found out he was Emma’s father, she couldn’t exactly tell him to go to Hell; she’d be stuck with him whether she wanted that or not, and he should think about what this was going to do to Annie. She insisted he owed her and Zach an apology, “And when you finally decide to make it, don't expect us to accept it.”
JUST HUG ME
As Babe came out of the bathroom, Zoe stepped out of the tunnels and into her bedroom. Zoe explained the police had released her, and she didn’t know where else to go but shouldn’t have come. Babe stopped her when she turned to leave, asking what are best girlfriends for? As she suggested Zoe take a relaxing bath, Adam came to the door to say Tad and Jamie wanted to talk to Babe. Babe agreed she’d be right down, and Adam left. Colby walked past the door and heard Babe’s voice, “Okay, you stay here and you take your bath. I'll be back as soon as I can.” She hurried away before Babe came out, returning with a camera; she burst in, “Say ‘cheese’, Josh!” Zoe begged her not to get Babe in trouble, and was moved when Colby said she was down with the whole trans thing and applied makeup for her.
Babe was stunned to learn that her father was considered a suspect; she said she hadn’t heard from David, and went up to bed. She was upset to find Colby with Zoe; Colby said she wouldn’t rat her out, but was doing it for Zoe, not her. Zoe asked if she wanted her to go, but Babe said she could really use a friend and asked for a hug. If her father was a serial killer, she wouldn’t be able to live with that! Zoe urged Babe not to do that to herself and vowed to pull her out of her funk. The girlfriends climbed into bed and under the covers; Zoe held Babe and sang her a lullaby.
J.R. worried about his mother’s safety; Tad and Adam had a bodyguard put on her, too. Jamie told J.R. if Zoe was in the clear, Babe was right, she’d been protecting an innocent person and not putting Little Adam at risk. Was he still going to divorce her? J.R. honestly didn’t know. After Tad and Jamie left, Adam thought as long as Babe's daddy was out there slaughtering young women, it could only help him get full custody.
I PRAYED FOR SPIKE TO BE MY BABY BROTHER
Annie went to see what was keeping Ryan. While she was gone, Ryan returned. Emma was pleased to see him, and told him she’d said her prayers, “I prayed for Spike to be my baby brother.”
LET IT BE
Under the influence of the drug, Zach admitted to Josh that Tad was responsible for Greg’s death, and urged him to let to be. Josh grabbed the love letters and rushed out; he later held them in his hands as he broke down. Annie came in and Zach told her he was drugged; he wanted her to ask him questions about his mother and how she died before the drug wore off. Kendall came in and demanded to know what Annie was doing with her husband? Annie said she was helping her husband, but Kendall could take over. She left, and Kendall asked if he was okay? Zach replied, “That depends on you. I told Ryan.” He told, and it was a secret. Kendall comforted him, saying she knew what Josh and Ryan did to him. Zach told her the drug made him remember something. The “R” at the bottom of his mother’s letters. He knew what it stood for, “Raymond.”
SOMETHING’S OFF
Back in the suite, Annie asked Ryan if he was all right? She just left Zach Slater. He was so weird. Ryan asked why? What did he do? Annie told him Zach said he was drugged; he wanted her to ask him questions about his mother and how she died. Asked if that’s all, Annie wondered if that wasn’t enough? Something's off. What wasn’t he telling her? Ryan sighed that he’d explain it all later, about Zach. Telling her to get some sleep and he’d see her later, he kissed her forehead and left, stopping in the hallway as he tried to sort it all out.

Friday, January 26, 2007HOW DOES IT FEEL?
Zach went to Ryan’s room at the casino and caught him still asleep. He grabbed him by the throat and held him down as he demanded, “How does that feel, to be ambushed like that? To be trapped the way I was last night?” Ryan said he and Josh did what they had to do, and he should get over it. Zach noted all he found out was that he had another child, nothing about the murders, and Ryan wondered how long he was going to sit on the fact that he was Emma’s father? Zach insisted it was Kendall’s secret, not his. It was her call, whether he agreed with it or not. He loved her and didn’t care if she was wrong or not; he wasn’t going to betray her. Ryan accused him of being a chip off the father he hated, and Zach shouted to shut up! Ryan asked again, “How does it feel?”
Kendall went to see Annie, and told her to go ahead and get it over with, let her have it. Annie asked what she did this time? “What new reason should I have for wanting to rip your head off?” Kendall realized Annie didn’t know, and asked if she even knew what Ryan and Josh did to Zach? Annie did, but still didn’t know what that had to do with the two of them. Kendall insisted Ryan took advantage of both of them, and it wouldn’t be the last time. Emma came in and declared, “Please don't be mad at me.” As Kendall insisted she could never be mad at her, they heard Ryan and Zach arguing in the room across the hall.
As Ryan asked Zach if he was afraid he’d find out that he really did kill his mother, Annie and Kendall came in; Annie told them keep it down or take it somewhere else. Ryan asked her to get the kids ready to go. Kendall insisted Spike was staying with her and Zach. Ryan maintained it wasn’t safe, and Kendall asked why he hadn’t shared the news with Annie about him being Emma’s father? She was afraid Annie would hate her and take it out on Spike. Ryan said she’d never do that, and thought Kendall should try being more like Annie.
OUT THERE, WATCHING AND PLANNING
Derek and Jack discussed the case, agreeing the only thing they knew was that the killer was out there, watching and planning his next move. As they spoke, we saw gloved hands injecting a drug into the lid of a jar. Josh arrived with the love letters he’d taken from Zach; he brought them in because Zach wasn’t interested in sharing anything.
ONE PICTURE SAYS A THOUSAND WORDS
J.R. was taken aback when he came in to find Babe asleep with Zoe’s arm around her. He called it déjà vu all over again—finding her in bed with Bianca, except that time she wanted him to walk in on her. Babe explained Zoe had come to her because she needed someplace safe to go, and she wanted her to stay with them for a while. J.R. agreed there was no danger; he wasn’t crazy about this whole transgender thing, but if this is what she needed to do, he wouldn’t fight her on it.
Tad made Dixie promise to be very cautious, saying he lost her once and couldn’t take losing her again. Until they caught Hayward or whoever the killer was, no place was safe. As he spoke, Winifred was in the store, loading a cart with groceries. As she turned to get another item, a gloved hand replaced a jar of peanut butter with an identical one.
Dixie promised to be careful, and told Tad she was starting her job at the hospital. Tad asked her out for lunch, and they shared a kiss as they planned their date. Adam was upset that Zoe would be their guest, and J.R. had agreed to it. He went to find J.R., and was pleased when J.R. showed him the picture he’d taken on his camera phone of Babe and Zoe in bed together; a picture was worth a thousand words! J.R. didn’t know if he’d use it, and wondered what if he was wrong about Babe? He wanted his wife alive, “I may be asking to be struck by lightning, but better Kendall than Babe.”
Krystal said she’d show Zoe to her guest suite, and told Babe not to go anywhere. She sent Winnie out for all the fixings for a really special surprise for her. In the kitchen, Winifred picked up the jar of peanut butter and told Little Adam this was his mama's most favorite thing in the whole world, peanut butter and banana pancakes.
FRIENDS RESPECT EACH OTHER’S BOUNDARIES
Back at the penthouse, Ryan asked Annie if she wasn’t even curious as to what Zach said to him when he was all drugged up? Annie agreed, sure she was, but it was none of her business. They share an apartment, but that didn’t give her a free pass to his private life. Friends respect each other's boundaries. Ryan asked, “So are boundaries the reason why you don't want to know who Emma's father is?”
PUSH ME AND FIND OUT
Zach got a call from Jack, asking him to come to the police station and discuss the love letters. Aidan left to check out a lead on David, and Jamie asked Josh if he was still after his brother’s wife? Josh warned, “I know who killed Greg Madden. If you don't back off, I'll share the name with the police.” Jamie said there was no way he knew who killed Greg Madden because no one did. Josh challenged, “Push me and find out.” As Jamie said that was the best invitation he’d had all day, Tad came in and asked if he missed something?
Derek said they were still looking at Adler, and now Hayward. Jack told him they had nothing on Zarf or Hayward, “And all we know from Kenny's tail is that he made a trip to the grocery store.”
Kendall and Zach came into the station; she was taken aback to see the portrait with her face and a dart in the neck.
JUST THE WAY YOU LIKE THEM
Winifred came in with a tray and told Miss Babe she whipped these up just for her, from her mama, with love, “Banana pancakes, extra peanut butter, just the way you like them.”
Dixie assured Babe that her father wasn’t a murderer, and urged her to eat the pancakes. Babe wouldn’t, saying if J.R. saw her eating them, it would bring up bad memories, but they were awesome and Dixie should try them. Dixie did, and called them amazing, eating with obvious enjoyment. She suddenly gasped and clutched at her throat.

Monday, January 29, 2007WE’RE FAMILY NOW
At the park for a play date between Emma, Spike and Miranda, Bianca was pleased when Julia came along and introduced Kathy, saying they were family now. Julia told Bianca about Kathy losing her parents, and worried that her whole world had been turned upside down, and she had no idea how to make it right. Bianca offered suggestions on providing continuity, and wondered if she was right to keep Maggie from seeing Miranda. Julia thought it was terrible, but she couldn’t say anything to make it better. After everything Bianca said to her to help her not feel so alone. Bianca laughed that was what play dates were. The kids bond over “Duck, Duck, Goose”, and the parents bond over not having all the answers. When Julia said a child should hear that she was loved every single day, Bianca thought she already had all the answers about parenting.
Saying she had to go see someone, Bianca asked Julia if she’d watch Spike. She left, and Julia laughed as she told Spike that she might not be so bad at this mommy thing after all.
I AM EMMA’S FATHER
Ryan felt Annie out on why she wasn’t even curious about Emma’s biological father, and Annie explained her fear of someone trying to take Emma away from her. Ryan asked if she trusted him, and believed he would never let anyone take Emma from her? When Annie said yes, Ryan told her, “I am Emma’s father.”
GIVE TAD HIS CHILD
As Babe told Krystal and J.R. to call 9-1-1, Dixie collapsed. J.R. managed to get out of his wheelchair and crawled to his mother. As Krystal called for help, Babe realized Dixie wasn’t breathing, and told J.R. they had to do CPR; they knew how, and they could help her.
J.R. told Dixie that Tad said he had to come back for her; now she had to come back for Tad. As Babe and J.R. continued CPR, Zoe returned with a box of gardenias she’d found on the grounds. J.R. and Babe exchanged glances, and realized Dixie was poisoned with V-Tach. When Babe went to open the door for the paramedics, Dixie told J.R., “Give Tad his child.” J.R. assured her they’d never stop looking for Kate, but Dixie said not Kate, “Krystal’s baby is Tad’s.” J.R. cried as he begged his mom not to leave him, and asked, “Charlotte is Tad’s?” The EMTs arrived and Dixie was taken to the hospital; Adam told Babe and Zoe they weren’t going anywhere!
ONLY US
Kendall was upset to see the portrait and the dart. Zach started to take her home, but Derek said she wasn’t safe until they had someone in a cage, and the “someone” he liked was Zarf. Josh insisted they should be looking at “R”, the guy who wrote the love letters to Zach’s mother. Kendall told Derek that Josh decided to get back to his medical roots by dosing Zach with some truth serum. His little pal Ryan was in on it. Jack asked Zach if he knew anything about these letters that might help them solve this case? Zach didn’t, except the “R” was for Raymond, her lover. Kendall wanted to put herself out there for the killer to come after, but Zach insisted she couldn’t go after him alone. Zach told Tad that Josh knew the truth about Greg; Tad thought it was no wonder Josh was acting so strange and couldn’t blame him, “The man that raised him is dead, thanks to me.”
Derek got a call and shouted, “Chandler mansion, now!” Josh cried Babe’s name and started to run out, but the Chief told him, “Josh, wait, it's not Babe!” He turned and added, “I'm sorry, Tad. It’s Dixie.”
Kendall was relieved when Zach didn’t try to send her away, saying he couldn’t let her out of his sight. Kendall called that good, reminding him that those vows they took mean he’s stuck with her. “Always, only you,” he nodded. “Only us,” Kendall agreed.
PLEASE COME BACK TO ME
At the ER, J.R. told Tad he told Dixie to come back for him. She was just laying there, pale and barely breathing, but he knew she was thinking about him because she said. Tad asked what she said?
Tad burst into the cubicle and told Dixie she had to come back to him because she was his one and only. Dixie’s eyes opened, and she looked at him.
A PLATE OF POISON
Adam roughed Zoe up and accused Babe of bringing this monster into their lives. When Derek arrived, he demanded that creature be arrested for murder. Josh defended Babe and Zoe. Babe realized the pancakes made for her had to have been poisoned. Adam called it a plate of poison just sitting there. Derek said no one should touch it. If the pancakes were for Babe, then Dixie wasn’t the intended victim. “I was supposed to die today,” Babe declared. Bianca came in and stopped short when she saw Zoe.
SHE WANTED TO TAKE US WITH HER
Kendall insisted Zach bring her to the warehouse, on a mission to bring his childhood memories to the surface. Zach remembered his mother telling him they were going on a trip, “A wonderful trip, you, me and Baby Michael.” He wondered what if his mother had gotten away a little earlier, just an hour or a day, and she hadn’t been on that balcony? She’d be alive today, living with a man she loved and who loved her. He asked again what if he did this? What if he killed his mom? What if he was the reason another innocent woman was going to die today? He recalled his father’s voice, “Alex, do not disobey me!”
TOGETHER FOREVER
Jamie called Julia, telling her the killer attacked Dixie, and she might not make it. Julia wanted to come immediately, but Jamie said no, stay with Kathy. The last thing either of them needed was another bad scene.
Opal was upset that she couldn’t reach Palmer, saying he needed to be there. Di, Del, Krystal and J.R. were silent, waiting for some news.
Tad told Dixie he thanked every star in the sky because of her, not just theirs, because she was his wish come true. Did she have any idea how much he loved her, how much he was always going to love her? Dixie reached up and removed the oxygen mask from her face, “Together…” Tad nodded, “Together forever.” Dixie smiled before going limp in his arms. As the monitor flatlined, Tad asked, “Dixie?”

Tuesday, January 30, 2007THIS IS HUGE!
Annie was stunned when Ryan repeated that he was Emma’s father, and said he didn’t owe her anything for helping out with Spike. Ryan insisted this didn’t anything to do with obligation or favors; this had to do with the truth. He agreed this all started with David Hayward, but another test had been run and it was true. Annie didn’t understand why Kendall hadn’t said anything; Ryan noted that Kendall’s motives tended to be about Kendall. When Annie said this didn’t have to change anything, Ryan said this changed everything—this was huge! He loved Emma and wanted to be her father, but would respect her choice. Emma came home from the park with an acorn she’d found in the snow, and gave it to Ryan. He said it was just like that favorite bedtime story they read, about the squirrel who found the magic acorn, made a wish and the wish came true.
IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ME
Babe realized, “It was supposed to be me.” Adam said she had brought nothing but pain and hardship to his family, “And if Dixie dies, it’s going to be on you, sweetheart. You will have killed her.” Josh defended Babe, and Derek suggested Adam go to the hospital to be with J.R. while they finished questioning Babe. Jack asked Zoe where she was earlier, and Babe insisted Zoe didn’t do anything wrong. If they wanted to blame someone, blame her. Adam was right, it was her fault! Jack agreed Babe could leave, and Zoe asked Josh how they could protect her?
UNTIL WE ARE PARTED BY DEATH
As Tad begged Dixie not to leave him, J.R. insisted they would save her; she’d be fine. As Krystal tried to encourage J.R., he thought of Dixie’s words, “Krystal’s baby is Tad’s.” Tad thought of his words to Dixie, “Together forever.” He thought back to first meeting Dixie, and what they had gone through to be together.
J.R. remembered a childhood Christmas pageant when he’d frozen, unable to remember the words he was to sing until Dixie stood and sang the words, and his smile as he was able to join in. Jamie smiled sadly as he remembered family time with Tad, Dixie and J.R., and one morning in particular when Tad psyched Dixie out over a lost frog. J.R. remembered his mother sitting with him after his accident, and telling her how Tad had urged him to come back because his mom needed him.
As they worked on Dixie, Joe remembered her joy when she became pregnant, and his warning that her body wasn’t up to it, “We're looking forward, you know, to years of being together as a family.”
Tad thought of Dixie saying they could help each other look for Kate, and they’d find her—he had to believe that! He recalled their three weddings, their joy each time at finding their way back to each other, how Dixie had promised to always stand by him, always be his best friend, and to never do anything to hurt him or that beautiful heart of his. His pain was unbearable as he remembered their vows, taking each other to have and to hold, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, through good times and bad times, come rain or come shine, “Until we are parted by death, and nothing will ever separate us again.”
Babe arrived and J.R. told her that Dixie’s heart stopped, “But they're working on her. She won't leave me again. She can't.”
Joe had to tell the family, “We lost her.” J.R. lashed out at Joe; Babe held him in her arms as he cried for the mother he’d lost again.
LITTLE MESSAGES FROM HEAVEN
In the park, Julia tried to interest Kathy in building a snowman or making snow angels, but got no response. She asked if she was hungry. They could stop by the store and pick up her favorite foods, whatever she likes to eat, like Mac and cheese, or pizza? Julia was startled when Father Clarence came up and said chicken tenders were Kathy’s favorite food, “Now you know what to get at the grocery store, Aunt Julia.” Father Clarence said he and Kathy were old friends, and told the little girl he knew it was hard without her mommy and daddy. He formed a snowball and said snow was God's way of letting us keep in touch with the people we love who are not here on Earth, “So when it snows, it means Mommy and Daddy are sending you little messages from Heaven.” He knew she was sad now, but she’d be happy again because Aunt Julia loved her so much and would take good care of her. Julia turned to thank Father Clarence, but he was gone.
SHE’S GONE
Jack got a call and sighed that she was gone. Dixie didn't make it. Bianca was upset that Dixie never found her little girl. When Jack took Bianca aside, Zoe told Josh she couldn’t stay here, not while this family grieved. She couldn’t go back to the Valley Inn, and would find someplace else.
Jack worried about Bianca’s involvement with Zoe, but Bianca insisted she wasn’t a killer and he shouldn’t have any problem with her talking to her. Zoe came out and declared the last thing she would do was hurt Bianca. Josh told Jack it wouldn’t hurt to keep an eye on Zoe, and invited her to stay with him. Zoe begged Chief Frye to catch the killer, and not let him hurt Babe.
YOU’RE WITH THE STARS NOW
The family came in to say their goodbyes; as J.R. held Dixie’s hand, he felt a presence at his shoulder. We saw what he couldn’t, Dixie in a white dress, sadly touching his shoulder before moving to lightly touch Jamie’s back. She, or her spirit, moved out to the hallway, where she saw all of her loved ones trying to comfort one another; she whispered, “Tad.”
J.R. cried as he pressed Dixie’s star necklace into her hand and said she was with the stars now.
MY BEAUTIFUL KATE
Tad went to the park; seemingly in a daze, he didn’t hear Julia when she said his name. Kathy took his hand and asked, “Will you show me your trick now?” As Tad pulled a quarter from behind her ear, Dixie’s spirit came to the park and watched. Her eyes widened with recognition and she gasped, “Kate! My beautiful Kate.” She watched as Kathy hugged Tad., and it began to snow. Kathy waved to Dixie, who joyfully blew her a kiss before vanishing.

Wednesday, January 31, 2007I HAVE LIED TO YOU
Ryan and Annie had an awkward moment when they bumped into each other at the bathroom door; they laughed, but the sexual tension was definitely there. Later, over coffee that Ryan pronounced great, Annie admitted she didn’t know yet if she would tell Emma that Ryan was her father. If they were to get involved and it didn’t work out, where would that leave Emma? Her happiness and her security always had to come first, which is why she and Emma couldn’t live there anymore; they had to move out. When Ryan tried to talk her out of it, Annie felt he was just being nice because he felt he owed them. Ryan insisted he meant it, adding he’d never lied to her. He corrected himself, admitting he had lied to her—the coffee was the worst on the planet! Annie couldn’t give Ryan an answer, needing to catch her breath and decide what to tell Emma.
After a steamy kiss, Annie left to run an errand, and Ryan doused himself with cold water. Emma came home with a tummy ache; she wanted her mommy, but was equally happy that Ryan was there to make her feel better.
HOW DOES HE KNOW HOW…?
Jamie wondered how the killer got to the victims, but Aidan thought a better question was how he knew how to get to his victims? They went to Fusion and silently searched the office for bugs. Aidan’s device detected one; he motioned to Jamie and pointed to it.
YOU FIX IT NOW!
At the warehouse, Zach found an engraved party invitation with a flower pressed inside. As he remembered his mother on the balcony, happy and laughing, with a champagne flute in her hand, Tad arrived and wondered how many more innocent women had to die before Slater came to terms with his past. Tad got a call from Aidan about the listening device found at Fusion. Telling Zach to figure what the connection was to his past and fix it now, Tad left. Kendall insisted that she wanted to act as bait to catch the Satin Slayer. When Zach told her that his mother had had a birthday party the night she died, Kendall decided they should throw a party, and said she trusted him to keep her safe. So, what should they do first? Zach said invite the killer.
SOMETIMES BETTER ISN’T EVEN POSSIBLE
Babe woke up on the sofa after she and J.R. had talked until dawn. J.R. reached out to her, but Babe felt he had to know the truth, that she was the reason his mama was dead; she had been the intended target. She was pleased and surprised when J.R. embraced her and said he couldn’t imagine his life without her. He told her she had gotten him through the night and given him a reason to live; he didn’t want that ever to stop. Adam came in and was upset to see J.R. and Babe kissing. J.R. defended his wife to Adam, and asked that he leave her alone.
Krystal brought Di a cup of coffee, and Di sighed that she hadn’t gone home because everyone there would have tried to make her feel better. Krystal understood that sometimes better isn’t even possible. Di regretted the way she’d betrayed Dixie; she couldn’t take it back, and now Dixie was dead. Krystal comforted Babe, who said the way she and J.R. had been the night before was what she’d always wanted, “And all it cost was his mama’s life.”
Adam argued that Babe was using Dixie’s death to her advantage, but J.R. insisted she was the only thing that got him through the night sober and in one piece. J.R. reminded him that he told him to listen to his mother about letting Babe stay and working things out for their family. Adam asked if he was going to stay in his marriage because that’s what his mother wanted? Dixie was a good woman, God rest her soul, but that didn’t mean he owed it to her to do everything she wanted him to do. J.R. thought of Dixie’s last words to him, “Give Tad his child. Not Kate. Krystal’s baby is Tad’s.” Adam asked if he could really forget about Babe’s affair with Josh Madden, not her first, by the way? J.R. retorted that just because he wouldn’t be able to forgive Krystal didn’t mean he couldn’t forgive Babe. Adam agreed it would be like ripping his heart out of his chest, but if Krystal had an affair, he would wipe her out of his life. Tad came in, and J.R. looked at his father and his stepfather. Tad and J.R. agreed they’d stick together and help each other get through their grief at losing Dixie. Later, Adam told Krystal he didn’t think he could survive what Tad was going through, “Life without the other half of my soul.”
Tad told J.R. to go spend time with his wife. He told Adam and Krystal about the listening device at Fusion, and found one hidden in the Chandler parlor. He was upset when Adam shouted something about the bug, as it destroyed their chance of using it to bait the killer. Krystal cried that the killer had been listening, and he used her to try to kill Babe and now Dixie was dead. She broke down in tears, and Adam held her.
WE HAVE A PLAN
Zach and Kendall arrived at Fusion; Aidan met them at the door and put a finger to his lips, warning them to be quiet. He led them over and showed them the bug, and Kendall wrote a note that she held up, “We have a plan.” Knowing the killer was listening, Kendall and Zach planned a fundraiser for the Amelia Cambias Foundation, “In honor of your mother.” As they started to leave, Annie arrived.
TELL ME WHAT TO DO
Babe walked past Dixie’s room and saw J.R. looking at a picture taken with his mother. She asked what he was doing, and J.R. sighed he just wanted to be with her things. Babe asked if there was anything she could do, some way she could help even the tiniest bit? J.R. agreed there was something she could do, tell him what to do. Babe asked about what? She was stunned when J.R. asked, “Should I change Tad’s life and destroy my father’s by telling them both that Krystal’s baby is Tad’s?”
pika- 02-05-2007
Thursday, February 1, 2007LAUGHING ON THE WAY
With the help of a stuffed bear named Dr. Feel Better, Ryan got Emma to admit that she got her tummy ache after a mean boy laughed at her. The “doctor” prescribed lots of ice cream, and to laugh right back at the little boy. Fully cured after eating her ice cream and practicing laughing, Emma happily let Ryan take her back to preschool, agreeing they’d practice laughing on the way.
IT’S YOU I DON’T TRUST
Annie angrily asked Kendall where she got off keeping Emma from her father on purpose? She knew why she did it. She wants Ryan to have only one child, hers. She wants him to love only one child, Spike, and she wants him to love only one woman, “You.” Kendall suggested that Annie would like it if the killer got her so she wouldn’t be in her way with Ryan.
Annie called that a new low, even for her. She said Ryan’s heart was so big; he loved his son, so why couldn’t she trust that he would love both of his kids the same way? Kendall agreed she trusted Ryan, “It’s you I don’t trust.” Annie said this was like talking to a pile of rocks! Kendall asked what she and Ryan were going to do about Emma? “None of your damn business,” Annie replied.
ONE DEATH AT A TIME
When Adam blamed Tad for making a stupid mistake and getting Dixie killed, Krystal defended Tad and demanded that her husband apologize. Adam did, and said the killer was probably that Zarf character anyway. Tad told him to knock it off—leave Zoe alone! She was not the killer. Adam asked if Zarf wasn’t the killer, then who the hell was going after his family? Tad thought a better question was who was going after Zach Slater? When Krystal said he was leading up to Kendall one death at a time, Adam wondered why he didn’t just take Zach out and leave the women alone? Tad noted, “Being a master of vengeance, I’m surprised you have to ask the question.” If you take out your victim too soon, they don’t suffer. After Tad left the room, Adam held Krystal and thought if she had tasted those pancakes. What about Colby, or Little Adam? If he lost any of them, “Especially you.”
SOMETIMES WE FIGHT DIRTY
Bianca was taken aback to find that Zoe was staying with Josh right downstairs from her, and asked if he was stalking her? Zoe asked if she didn’t get it? Her brother still thought she was the Satin Slayer, and wanted to keep an eye on her. Zoe left for a walk, and Josh told Bianca he’d make sure Zoe stayed out of her way. He admitted he was worried about Babe, and hated not being able to protect her or know that she was okay. Kendall arrived and raged at Josh for drugging her husband and making him blurt out that Annie’s little girl was Ryan’s daughter! Bianca realized this was what Josh had been holding over Kendall, what he used to get her to help him get Babe. What was wrong with the two of them? Josh said he and Kendall fight for the ones they care about. Sometimes they fight dirty, and sometimes it pays off. Bianca felt that fighting dirty wasn’t exactly something to be proud of. Josh told Kendall she should be focusing on the more important issue here, that she was in danger. He stormed out, and Bianca asked Kendall how could she, of all people, keep a little girl from her parent? Kendall insisted she did it for Ryan, but Bianca didn’t buy that. Kendall told her sis of the plan to trap the killer, and wanted her to promise if anything happened to her, that she’d fight for custody of Spike—she didn’t want Annie raising her son! Bianca was worried, and pleaded with her to be careful.
PLEASE GIVE US ALL A CHANCE
J.R. was stunned to realize that Babe had known all along that Krystal was carrying Tad’s baby. He asked what he should do, go on letting his dad believe a lie, or give Tad his baby? Should he go against his mother’s last dying wish? Babe begged him not to tell anyone—he couldn’t possibly think telling Adam that her mama was carrying Tad’s child was going to make losing Dixie any easier. Please, before he did anything, just think about it. Please just give them all a chance.
NO MORE
Zach went to the funeral home, and leaned over Dixie’s coffin as he sighed, “I’m sorry, honey. I’m so sorry.” She died because of him. He should have saved her! Ryan came in and said he was sorry; he was wrong for accusing him of holding back. Zach said it was done, no more. He and Kendall were throwing a party, and the guest of honor was the killer. Di came in and cried at the sight of the coffin; she said she wanted her sister back.
YOU NEVER WILL BE
Maggie encountered Zoe in the park, and was angry when she questioned how she could have broken Bianca’s heart. When Zoe said she was completely in love with Bianca, Maggie warned her not to take advantage of Bianca, adding that she could never love her, “You're not even her type. You never will be.”
YOU DON’T WANT TO LOSE WHAT I JUST LOST
Zach arrived to offer his condolences, but Adam said they didn’t need sympathy, they needed answers, “Find out who’s murdering women in your name and stop him.” Tad came downstairs after sweeping the house for bugs; Zach told him he had an idea to flush out the killer, and wanted him in on it. Krystal was upset at the idea of Babe going to the party, but Zach insisted she had to be there. She was supposed to be next; the killer missed, and was going to try again. Tad agreed, and if it happened, it was better it happen in a controlled environment. Adam insisted J.R. would never let her go. It wasn’t going to happen, “So go plan your party somewhere else, both of you. You're done here.” Tad told Zach he’d better pray this works, “Because you don't want to lose what I just lost.”
STAY AWAY FROM SLATER
Di asked the funeral director that Dixie’s mother’s bible be placed with her sister. She leaned over the coffin and whispered to Dixie; she swore on that bible that they would find him. An envelope was delivered to Ryan with a note, “Stay away from Slater. He killed your sister. He’ll kill the mother of your child.”

Friday, February 2, 2007COURAGEOUS OR RECKLESS?
A television reporter stood in front of Zach and Kendall’s new home and recapped the events of the past weeks, mentioned the women who had been killed or attacked, and posed the question of whether the Slaters were being courageous in hosting this reception, or just plain reckless?
THIS MAY BE THE ONLY WAY
Zach looked around at the memories of his mother, and told Kendall he didn’t want her doing this. Kendall insisted it had to be done. This may be the only way to get their lives back and move on. Ryan arrived and showed Zach the latest note from the killer. Zach realized he wasn’t on his game, and Ryan assured him he was already on it. He hoped this guy did make a move tonight, because this time he was ready for him.
When Josh called this plan insane, Kendall told her little brother he could either grab an hors d’oeuvre and help them catch a killer or he could get the hell out. Josh asked if Babe was coming, and Kendall accused him of only caring about Babe, not her. He’d tried to worm his way into her life even though she'd told him a million times to stay the hell out of it. Josh protested that he loved Babe; Kendall advised that sometimes really loving someone meant you had to let them go.
I HAVE TO AT LEAST TRY
Babe asked J.R. if there was any way he could just let this go? His decision would change lives forever! J.R. protested he wanted to fulfill his mother’s dying wish, to tell Tad the truth, but Babe insisted Dixie asked that because she loved Tad more than she ever loved Adam, “Do you?” J.R. was surprised she hadn’t warned Krystal; Babe admitted she hadn’t because there was still a chance he might not say anything. When Babe said they were each other’s family now, and that was her priority. When she spoke of the progress they’d made, J.R. asked why she kissed Josh on New Year’s Eve? Babe sighed everyone was kissing everyone, and before she knew it, Josh was kissing her. No, she didn’t scream or slap him and make a scene, she kissed him and told him to go to Hell and leave her alone, and then she came home to him where she belonged.
Krystal was upset when Tad arrived to speak to Babe, and insisted Babe was not leaving this house! Tad thought Babe deserved to make the decision. Hearing Tad and Adam arguing, Babe and J.R. came downstairs. Tad filled them in, and Babe insisted she was going to the party; she couldn’t live with herself if she didn’t at least try to get the killer off the streets. J.R. wanted to go with her, and promised he’d keep her safe. After they left, Krystal worried, but was pleased when Adam admitted he’d sold Babe short, and she could be very good for his son.
YOU’RE NOT INVITED
Amanda and Julia wondered why they weren’t invited to the party. Del said the real reason for the party was to trap a killer, and both women wanted to go. Jamie didn’t want Julia going, reminding her that she said she had to put Kathy first and stay safe. When Kathy’s doll had a wardrobe malfunction, Kathy missed her mommy and how she’d be able to fix it. Jamie cheered the little girl up, and she agreed Julia might be good at that, too. Aidan worried about Jonathan coming, but Jon promised he wouldn’t do anything stupid.
BEAUTIFUL, COMPASSIONATE AND AMAZING
Bianca was surprised when Zoe returned a doll Miranda had given her; Zoe said Miranda knew she was a woman from the first time she saw her, and had sensed that she wanted a dolly. She called Miranda beautiful, compassionate, and amazing; her mom was the only person she’d met who was more wonderful. Maggie came in and warned that the rock star-gone-diva was just looking for a whole new kind of groupie, and Bianca was it. After Zoe left, Maggie declared there was something going on with Bianca and that guy! Bianca said she was a girl, and Maggie didn’t have the right to comment on her personal life. They argued, and Maggie left. Bianca called and asked Zoe to come back; she was surprised to learn that Zoe and Maggie had already met in the park. Zoe said she’d told Maggie she didn’t understand how someone could be loved by a heart as magnificent as Bianca’s, and walk away.
ARE YOU READY?
When Kenny Adler showed up at the party, Kendall wondered if they might be looking at the killer. Jonathan and Amanda decided to keep an eye on him. Kendall was grateful when Babe arrived. Josh accused J.R. of bringing Babe to the party in the hopes of getting her killed. Zach told Tad they were ready for the killer, and hoped he’d take the bait. As they went back inside, someone watched through binoculars.
Kendall and Ryan argued over Annie; Kendall wanted him to prove that his little girl wouldn’t cost their Spike a damn thing.
When Babe sent her bodyguard to get her a drink, someone grabbed her. J.R. was upset to hear that Babe was missing; he looked out and saw her arguing with Josh and said he’d handle it. Babe again told Josh she wanted a future with J.R., not him; she needed him to understand that, and let her go.
Kendall slipped away from the guests and found Zach, who asked if she was ready?
THAT’S IN THE PAST
At the park, Emma saw Kathy and ran to her new friend. Annie and Julia had an awkward moment, but Julia said she was wrong in what she had done when Tad thought Emma might be Kate, and she was very sorry. Annie said that was in the past, and she didn’t want to hold any grudges. When she mentioned she was looking for a place to live, Julia suggested Wildwind. Annie agreed she might take her up on that.
GOODBYE, AND HELLO
Jamie helped J.R. to a place where he could watch Babe and Josh. Josh said he loved Babe, and if she really wanted to be with J.R., he wouldn’t stand in her way. They said goodbye, and Josh bent to kiss her. From J.R. and Jamie’s vantage point, it didn’t look like a goodbye kiss.
As Kendall stood on the balcony, wearing a white dress and a satin ribbon around her neck, a man came out; he put his hand on her shoulder and asked, “Oh, my god. Amelia—is it you?”

Monday, February 5, 2007GETTING TO KNOW YOU
Bianca told Zoe she’d rejected her, and said some harsh things. She was sorry; she guessed she didn’t want to believe she was real. Zoe smiled, “Oh, hell, there are times I don’t want to believe I’m for real either.” Bianca asked if she could hang out for a little while? She wanted to get to know her better. As they sat and talked about favorite things and where the name Zarf came from, Zoe insisted that deep down, she was just an ordinary Indiana girl. Bianca asked if she was going to start taking the estrogen, and was stunned to learn Zoe had gotten it from a street dealer rather than a doctor, out of fear of exposure. She urged her to contact a reputable and discreet doctor, or get some information from GLAAD. Zoe thanked her for her concern and for caring about her.
YOU GAVE ME A SPECIAL GIFT
After seeing Babe and Josh kiss, Jamie suggested to J.R. that they end it right there. J.R. insisted on doing it his way, and they returned to the house.
After they kissed, Babe said it had to be goodbye, for real this time. Josh agreed he felt it in their kiss. Before leaving, Babe told Josh he’d given her a special gift, loving her the way he had, and she would never forget that.
SOMEONE’S BEEN LIVING A LIE
As Kendall stood on the balcony, wearing a white dress and a satin ribbon around her neck, a man came out and gasped, “Amelia?” Kendall didn’t turn as he put his hand on her shoulder and asked, “Oh, my god. Amelia—is it you?” Zach, Ryan and Aidan rushed out and grabbed him. The man looked at Kendall and exclaimed, “You’re not her!” He turned to ask Zach, “How could you dishonor your mother’s memory like that?” He insisted he hadn’t done anything wrong. As Zach grabbed him, Jamie and J.R. returned; J.R asked what they were doing to Jenkins? He identified the man as his nurse, Raymond Jenkins.
Zach flashed back to his childhood, a man coming out on the balcony and greeting him, “Hello, Little Alex.” He told Jenkins, “It was you. You were in love with my mother and you wanted to run away with her the day she died.” Raymond said he should have gotten there earlier; if he had, she’d be alive. Zach demanded, “So now you blame me for her death? Did you kill these women to punish me?” Raymond asked why he would want to harm Amelia's son? As he repeated he did not kill anyone, Babe returned and asked what was going on? J.R. replied, “Someone's been living a lie.” Could she guess who the liar was? As Jenkins was read his rights and taken away, J.R. saw Josh come in; he told his brother to get him out of there.
DEFINITELY NOT CRIMES OF PASSION
Back at the mansion, J.R. swore to Jamie on his mother that he would not pick up a bottle of booze or lay a hand on Babe; he was in control. Jamie agreed he trusted him and left.
Back at Wildwind, Di seemed disturbed when everyone discussed the events of the evening, and whether Jenkins was the killer. Aidan didn’t think he was, as he’d seen Jenkins’ grief when he realized Kendall wasn’t Amelia, and these were definitely not crimes of passion. Jamie came home and told Julia that all hell was going to break loose tomorrow.
IT’S GOING TO BE A LONG NIGHT
At the station, Tad convinced Jack to let him sit in on the interrogation as he was an expert on the Cambias family. If that guy said one word to trip himself up, if anybody would know about it, he would. Raymond admitted he had an affair with Amelia Cambias, but insisted he hadn’t killed anyone. Derek and Jack agreed it was going to be a long night.
THAT VOICE
Zach told Kendall that hearing Raymond’s voice made him remember more about the night his mother died; the man yelling at his mother was his father.
I STILL FEEL IT
Zoe admitted that fear had kept her from taking the estrogen. Bianca thought GLAAD could put her in touch with someone who had gone through the same process; Zoe agreed it would be so nice to not feel so isolated, to have at least one person who could give her some idea of what to expect. Bianca shared how she’d been ambushed by Donald Steele of “The Exposer” when she first came out to her mother; she’d wanted to run away and never look back, but a stronger part of her wanted to take the first step. She knew if she could take that first, hard, terrifying step towards living life in the world as her true self, that after that, every step following would be easier. And over time, with a lot of support, it had been. If this was what she really wanted, she could do it, one step at a time.
Josh arrived, obviously upset, and admitted to Bianca that he and Babe were over. He’d lost Babe forever, and still felt that J.R. was going to hurt her.
IT’S ALL IN YOUR HANDS
Alone with J.R., Babe shivered as she thought about Jenkins being in their home. J.R. told Babe he’d made the decision not to tell his father that Krystal was carrying Tad’s baby. It was a tough decision, but tonight really sealed the deal. She was right about his dad. If he knew, it would just break his heart, it would destroy his marriage. He and Krystal seemed happy, and she was right about Tad, too. He was looking for Kate, not some child that didn’t exist. It would be better for everyone this way, and there was only one thing that could get him to tell his father and Tad the truth, “And it's all in your hands.” What happened next was entirely up to her.
He walked over to a table and began writing something on a pad of paper. He tore the sheet off and held it out to her, and Babe asked, “What is that?” When J.R. said all she had to do was sign it, Babe protested, “Not until you tell me what it says.” J.R. told her it was a simple document, one that made all agreements between them regarding their son's custody null and void. It waived off any rights that she might have to sue him in the future. Babe protested he couldn’t do this. J.R. shrugged, “It's like I said. It's all in your hands. You either sign over custody of Little A to me, or I blow your mama's life to Hell.”
pika- 02-06-2007
Maybe it's just me but I don't like on All My Children how they keep calling Zoe "she" even though he is still a male. After he starts hormone therapy and becomes a female it would be appropriate to refer to him as "she" but right now it's just weird, awkward and technically incorrect.

Tuesday, February 6, 2007SHARING CAN BE TOUGH
Ryan returned to the penthouse and filled Annie in on the events of the evening. Annie told him about seeing Julia and Kathy in the park, and the instant bond the little girls had formed. Emma actually talked the whole way home about sharing her Little Mermaid doll with Kathy. Ryan exclaimed she wouldn’t even let him hold Ariel! Annie nodded, for Emma to even consider sharing her most prized possession. Ryan knows, “Sharing can be tough.” Annie told him she was considering moving into Wildwind because she had decided what to do about him and Emma. When she said the decision was really hard for her, that she was used to keeping Emma all to herself, Ryan assumed she’d decided not to tell Emma and said maybe in time, she would reconsider.
Annie said she wouldn’t be able to once Emma learned her was her father. Ryan was overjoyed, and Annie grinned, “Congratulations, Dad.” Ryan joyfully hugged her, and Annie laughed, “Except this time, it’s a girl.” As they toasted to the future, Annie asked if he understood why she felt she and Emma had to move out? Ryan did; until they knew what their feelings for each other were, she didn’t want Emma to think of them as a family unit. As they toasted to friendship, Ryan and Annie both fantasized about kissing the other.
I BELIEVE IN US
When Kendall asked if he was thinking about the night his mother died, Zach said he didn’t want to remember anything. Kendall was startled when he threw a vase against the wall, but said nothing as he threw another vase and a plate and watched them shatter. She took a plate and smashed it on the floor, saying she could do this all night! Zach had to laugh, and pulled her into his arms. Back at the casino, Kendall said that house clearly reminded him too much of his childhood home, so they needed to torch it. Zach sighed it wasn’t the house, it was the Cambias curse. Kendall didn’t believe in the curse, “I believe in us.”
Later, after making love, Kendall said their baby was going to be so gorgeous. “Our baby?” Zach repeated, “You're not pregnant.” Kendall smiled that she could be after that. Zach protested they couldn’t have a kid, but Kendall insisted if they did, everything would be great. When Zach spoke of the tragedy he set in motion, Kendall insisted he was so close to figuring this out and would find out what happened the night his mother died. When all that was over, he would come back to the present with her and she would love him and be there for him, and they would move on together. That was a guarantee.
ALL ANYONE COULD EVER NEED
Jamie told Julia his brother’s life was about to go down in flames, and there wasn’t a damn thing he could do to help him. All he could do was be there for J.R. Julia insisted his love and his loyalty were all anyone could ever need. As they got into bed and started kissing, Julia said they weren’t alone. Jamie turned to see Kathy standing at the foot of the bed, afraid to go back to her room because of a monster. Julia was impressed with the way Jamie calmed her down and got her back to sleep. As they picked up where they left off, Kathy came back in and wound up falling asleep in the big bed between Jamie and Julia.
LESS THAN NOTHING
J.R. held out the paper and said Babe could either do nothing and watch her pregnant mama, a/k/a the cheating whore, get driven out into the snow, or she could sign over custody of Little Adam to him and he’d sit on her trampy mama’s secret. Babe was stunned, and asked where that came from? When J.R. said he’d seen her kissing Josh in the shed, Babe protested it was a goodbye kiss, and it was over between them. J.R. wondered how many times he’d heard that? She was taken aback to learn J.R. had been setting her up. How long had he been building this little case of his against her? J.R. called it long enough to make a really solid one. Babe was devastated that he didn’t want a future with her, and begged him not to hurt her mama or Adam. Dixie told him a secret before she died, and she trusted him to do the right thing with that information. J.R. coldly said the offer was on the table, and it wouldn’t be there much longer. Babe called it blackmail, and it wasn’t going to fly. He could do whatever he wanted, but she would fight for her son.
J.R. warned she’d end up with nothing except Krystal. He’d have their son, and Tad would probably have Krystal’s baby that she’d been trying to pass of as his father’s. On second thought, she probably wouldn’t even have Krystal, because she’d hate her so much for trashing her life. She’d have less than nothing! He brushed past her and left the room. Babe picked up the paper and tore it into shreds. She followed J.R. into the study and threw the scraps in his face; he shouldn’t bother piecing it together, as it wasn’t signed. J.R. smiled that he’d wake up Krystal. He couldn’t wait to see her face when she realized how much she meant to her. Babe added, “And Adam's when he realizes that you don't give a damn about him, either.” J.R. retorted that if she and her mama slut around, it’s not his fault. Babe noted it didn’t take alcohol to make him mean. His mama did not want him to use her dying words as a weapon to hurt people! J.R. wondered if she was talking to him about hurting people? His mother died in her place! She’s dead because of her, all because she couldn’t eat her stupid favorite pancake breakfast, “You should be in the ground, not her! And I wish to hell you were.” Babe had tears in her eyes as she said she was glad she kissed Josh, “Finally got the truth out of you.” She left the study, slamming the door behind her. J.R. looked at the scraps of paper on the floor as he contemplated his next move.
Babe returned to the parlor, and picked up her framed wedding picture. She held it to her and sank to the floor as she cried.

Wednesday, February 7, 2007ALL I CAN HANDLE RIGHT NOW
When Bianca joined her in the park, Maggie kissed her and said she'd wanted to do that since she got here. Bianca told her to stop it and called the kiss a mistake, saying she'd caught her by surprise. Maggie insisted they weren't over, but Bianca told her that her family was in a death or death situation now, and they needed all of her; she couldn't afford to be distracted, and felt Maggie was pressuring her. She admitted she still loved her, but needed time to make a decision. Maggie felt Zoe would be glad to help her, and said she didn't trust her. She asked if this was about Bianca wanting to be with a man, and was taken aback when told Bianca had slept with Leslie on New Year's Eve. When Bianca said she felt it was best that she go back to Paris, Maggie asked if she could call her? Bianca said email was all she could handle right now. Maggie agreed she'd take what she could get.
I HAVE RYAN'S CHILD, TOO
Erica showed up at the penthouse, and accused Annie of interfering in Ryan's life. She suggested Annie take her needy act somewhere else, because she would not get Ryan or his child. Erica was stunned when Annie told her Emma was Ryan's daughter, and she and Emma were as much a part of Ryan's life as Kendall and Spike. Erica warned this wasn't over! After she left, Emma came downstairs and said Ryan was her daddy now; she knew because Annie told the pretty lady.
PLAY DIRTY, WHY DON'T YOU?
With a hypodermic needle in hand, someone watched Babe as she went to see Kendall at the casino; the killer backed off when a guard confronted Babe about going into a restricted area. Babe told Kendall she knew J.R. had told her what he planned for her, and asked her to spill. When she noted that their sons could grow up without their mothers, Kendall called that playing dirty, but admitted J.R. told her he hadn't forgiven her. Babe asked if she enjoyed tanking her marriage? Kendall gave her a quarter to buy a clue, and said her marriage already tanked, she just didn't know it. She asked if J.R. was really gunning for her? Babe agreed, with big guns, and Kendall surprised herself by asking if there was anything she could do. As she gave Babe a comforting hug, Erica arrived and was aghast at the sight.
After Babe left, Erica told Kendall that Ryan had another child-what was she going to do about it? Kendall thought her mother would think she was a fool for keeping it secret, but Erica thought she was a fool for telling Ryan anything. When Kendall explained how Ryan had learned the truth, Erica blamed Zach, and felt he was going to cost Kendall her child. When was she going to wake up and realize that her life was meant to include Ryan? She should have seen Annie's stupid, simpering face telling her that she and her daughter shared an equal part in Ryan's life, and she just loved saying it. Kendall insisted they had enough to obsess on with their family right now. Declaring she would speak to her when she was less difficult, Erica left.
BECAUSE OF YOU, OF COURSE
Ryan asked Tad if he thought Jenkins could have committed the crimes? Tad didn't know, but if Jenkins wasn't the murderer, the killer was still out there. Ryan felt they had to get the killer to change his M.O. again, as he had when he contacted him at the funeral home. He had an idea, and felt it was worth a try. Zach convinced Derek to let him talk to Jenkins. He questioned him about his love for his mother, and why he was in Pine Valley. Raymond said he was there because of Zach, of course. His mother had loved him so much; when he learned that he was alive, he had to come to know if he'd had a better life. Zach said if he'd really loved his mother, he would hate him for killing her-he'd pushed her over the balcony! Raymond insisted, "If anyone pushed her, it wasn't you. It was your father."
IT WAS ONE KISS
J.R. went to Josh's looking for Babe; Josh and Zoe were worried when they heard that Babe had left without her security detail. Zoe reached Babe on her cell phone and arranged to meet her at the park. Josh realized that J.R. had dumped Babe, and asked J.R. what the hell he meant when he said Babe had better not keep him waiting. J.R. left, and Josh realized he must have seen him kissing Babe the night before. Bianca came to see Josh, and he told her J.R. hurt Babe again. Asked why this time, Josh shrugged it was stupid, it was one kiss. It was over. Bianca noted J.R. wasn't the stupid one, "That would be you."
THE THREE ADAMS
Back home, J.R. told Little A that mommies and daddies didn't always stay together, but that was okay, because he would always have him, and his grandpa. It would be all three of them, the three Adams. They were a family, and he would understand soon enough.
AS LONG AS WE LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Annie tried to explain to Emma how Ryan helped her make her; Emma didn't understand but didn't care, as long as they lived happily ever after. Kendall arrived and declared, "I'm here for my baby."
IT SEEMS TO RUN IN THE FAMILY
Bianca told Josh he was partly to blame after cheating with a married woman, but he argued that J.R. tried to kill Babe-how could she not see that? As Bianca asked how he could be so short-sighted, Erica came in and declared, "It seems to run in the family."
WE'LL WORK THIS OUT
When Zoe met her in the park, Babe said everyone was right. Drunk or sober, J.R. was a bastard, "And I'm a fool." She told Zoe that J.R. was blackmailing her, and had put her in the impossible situation of having to choose between her son and her mother. Zoe felt Babe had so much to give, and it was time she gave her something in return, a devious plan. They would just blackmail J.R. right back! She told Babe to stay right there, she'd get her some coffee, then they'd work this out. Someone watched as Zoe left. He, or she, donned the disguise of a homeless person, and went toward Babe. Babe looked up and smiled as she asked, "Can I help you?"
pika- 02-13-2007
Thursday, February 8, 2007IT’S AN HONOR
As Babe dug in her purse for some cash, the killer took out a syringe, but put it back in his or her pocket when Zoe and Officer Hannity returned. The supposedly homeless person took the money and shuffled away. Babe accepted Officer Hannity’s suggestion that he call a cop who moonlighted as a guard, and he moved away to make the call. Babe told Zoe she was sick over J.R.’s ultimatum, sign over custody of her son or watch him destroy her mama's entire world. If she took him to court, he would pull out what he was holding over her, and she couldn’t let him do that. Zoe guessed it wasn’t about her affair with Josh; Babe agreed it was something meaner, and admitted J.R. had taken a picture of them in bed together the night Zoe crashed in her room.
Zoe thought if they couldn’t dig up a secret on J.R. they’d make one up, and came up with a plan. Babe worried that Zoe would humiliate herself, but her gal pal assured her it was an honor to so something to return her kindness.
NOTHING IS TOO GOOD FOR ADAM CHANDLER’S CHILD
J.R. wasn’t happy to learn that Adam had set up a million dollar trust fund for Krystal’s unborn child. As Krystal and Adam snuggled on the sofa, Adam told his wife he had one more surprise for her. J.R. got a call from Babe to meet him at his office. When Adam went to have the driver put J.R.’s wheelchair in the car in case he needed it, Krystal told J.R. she was impressed; he was a changed man, and she was proud to call him her son-in-law. Krystal was less than pleased with Adam’s surprise, a Lamaze coach. When the woman said geriatric pregnancies could be especially difficult, Krystal warned Adam he had two minutes to get that broad out of her house!
THAT’S THE ZOE I REALLY LIKE
Erica urges Bianca and Josh and Josh to stop arguing, and told them of her plan for the whole family to go on a cruise to get out of Pine Valley; it was the only way to remove her children from the danger they were in. Bianca and Josh understood she was more concerned with the danger she felt Zoe and Babe posed, and that Kendall had sicced their mother on them to get Erica off her own case. As Josh asked Bianca when she was going to admit she was attracted to Zoe, Zoe came back to the loft. Erica was thoroughly charmed, and excited that Bianca was attracted to a man. She was taken aback when Zoe came out dressed as a woman, and Bianca noted that was the Zoe she really liked. Zoe left to meet Babe, and Josh worried it could only be trouble.
IT’S NOT “THAT BABY”!
Kendall wasn’t happy when she went to pick up Spike, and Emma insisted her brother had to stay with them. Annie didn’t want Kendall to take Spike, fearing they were both still in danger, and she didn’t want anything happening to that baby. Kendall exclaimed it wasn’t "that baby"! It was her baby, not Annie’s and not Emma's. Telling Annie she’d send for his things, she left with Spike.
WHAT SET YOU OFF?
When Raymond said if anyone had killed Amelia, it was his father, Zach attacked him. Jack and Derek rushed in, and asked Zach what set him off? Jack insisted that Zach leave.
LET’S DO IT
Ryan stopped the elevator between floors and told Tad his plan to trick the killer into showing them his hand, assuming Fusion was still bugged. Tad thought it was worth a shot, “Let's do it.” When they went into the offices, Ryan made a show of blaming Zach for everything that had happened, and suggested they get rid of him permanently. Maybe they could work together to make that happen. Say Zach had an accident. Chances were that the Satin Slayer would take the fall for it, right? They’d get what they want, the killer would get what he wanted, and no more innocent lives would be taken. Tad said he was taking this thing to a level he wasn’t comfortable with. He patted Ryan on the shoulder as he went to the elevator. Ryan silently followed, and Tad crossed his fingers. Ryan left, and Tad took out a gun as he settled in to wait. He received a fax, a note like the others, cut-out letters with the message, “Ryan, meet me at the pump house tonight.”
THOSE DAMN KANE WOMEN!
When Ryan came in, Emma ran to hug him, “Hi, Daddy!” When she said Spike was gone, Annie sent her daughter to color and told Ryan, “Those damn Kane women were here all day!” She tried to talk Kendall out of taking Spike, but she had no right to stop her, and this was the last thing he needed right now. Ryan told her not to worry, he was going to take care of Kendall.
IS THAT WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT?
When Kendall returned to the casino suite with Spike, Zach urged her to take him back to the penthouse; he was no longer convinced that Jenkins was the killer. Kendall refused to take Spike back, saying there was no way Annie was going to play mother to her son! Zach asked if that’s what it was about? Was she willing to put her son at risk because she was jealous of Annie? Ryan showed up and demanded she return Spike or he was taking her to court.
ONE LAST CHANCE
When Babe arrived with the off-duty cop, J.R. asked if that was her new boyfriend? Babe said actually, no, he was her bodyguard, and he wasn’t for sale, so don't try to buy him. J.R. asked if she’d considered his offer? Babe asked if he meant his threat? A man that could blackmail her with an unborn child and their own son was a man that she couldn’t love, “So, yeah. Let's do it. Let's get that divorce.” She suggested they just agree on joint custody, and could negotiate everything after that. She’d even give him back the Chandler shares. J.R. told her to give it up, “I don't have to negotiate a damn thing with you.” Babe offered him one last chance to be a human being and do the right thing before he seriously ended up regretting it. Wasn’t there anything she could offer to stop him from destroying so many lives? J.R. said no. They heard a knock at the door; when J.R. opened it, Zoe came in and planted a kiss on him, as Babe got it all on her camera phone.

Friday, February 9, 2007NO OTHER CHOICE
Ryan told Kendall she’d backed him into a corner; if she didn’t let him take Spike, he’d have no other choice than to take her to court. When Kendall refused to let Annie take care of her son, Ryan told her he’d never seen her so selfish, and that was saying a lot. As Kendall repeated that Spike was staying there, Tad came in with the fax and said it worked, “The killer wants a face-to-face with Ryan.” Zach thought Ryan’s idea was smart, and insisted he was going with Ryan and Tad to meet the killer. Kendall begged him not to go, but he told her it was going to be okay, and they’d be right back.
COULD THIS DAY GET ANY WORSE?
Derek told Jack there was nothing promising in the forensics report from the Cambias storage facility. As Jack wondered if this day could get any worse, Erica came in. Erica said Bianca and Kendall's lives seemed to be unraveling even as they spoke. Jack told her he had his hands full with this Satin Slayer thing, and Erica noted she shouldn't have come, because he was way too busy to care that Bianca had become involved with this transgender rock star/serial killer/murder suspect who happened to be living one floor away from her in Josh's apartment. And he couldn't possibly spare the time to worry that Kendall's little baby boy was being raised by that conniving, manipulative mother of Ryan's daughter!
Jack asked, “Ryan's what?” Erica filled him in, concluding that to make matters worse, just because Kendall didn't tell Ryan about his daughter, Emma, he was holding it against her. Jack thought that sounded familiar, “Like mother, like daughter, huh?” He assured her he was doing everything in his power to make sure that Kendall and Bianca stayed safe. Erica thanked him, but asked what about Josh? Jack was sure Josh could handle himself, “Sean, however…” The problem was his mother, who had ignored him for so long but was now bombarding him with phone calls. Jack got a call from the governor, and asked Erica to meet him later at their house. When Erica arrived there later, she was stunned when Barbara opened the door.
TWISTED LOVE
Janet was elated when Amanda and Jamie came to see her, but Jamie explained they needed a favor. They filled her in on the murders in Pine Valley, and Janet realized they wanted her to give them a clue as to how the killer’s mind worked, since she had so much experience as a psychopath. When she said she wasn’t that person anymore and didn’t like to go there, Jamie got that it was painful, but would she at least try? Janet wondered why they kept calling the killer a “he”, and why they felt he or she was motivated by hate? The killer could be driven by love, “Twisted love, the way mine used to be.” Everything she did, as horrible as it was, she did out of love for her daughter. It never occurred to her that someone would get hurt or die; it never crossed her mind. So, maybe the Satin Slayer didn’t understand, either. She said Ethan’s mother must have loved him, and she would have been devastated by his death. Zach was with him when he died, “How does she feel about that? Does she resent him, or do you think that she could blame him for the death of her child?”
IS THAT ANY WAY TO TREAT A LADY?
Josh went to the mansion looking for Babe, and hurried off when he learned J.R. was at the office.
When J.R. opened the door, Zoe came in and planted a kiss on him, as Babe took a picture and emailed it to her attorney. Zoe told J.R. she’d send the photo to "American Rock Star Weekly". It would be a world exclusive, “I'm J.R. Chandler's New Bitch.” The press would eat it up! Babe got a call from Krystal, who warned that Josh was looking for her. Babe told her not to worry, everything was under control. Josh showed up, and J.R. guessed that neither Josh nor Zoe knew what he was holding over Babe’s head. When he told Babe she wasn’t worth his mother’s life, she left. She told Josh she didn’t need his help, and asked him to just leave her alone and stay out of her life. He left, and Zoe held Babe as she cried.
J.R. thought of Dixie’s words, “Krystal's baby is Tad's.” He called for his car, “I'm going home.”
CAN YOU LIVE WITH THAT MUCH HONESTY?
When Krystal insisted Babe was finished with Josh for good, Adam noted it wasn’t the first time he’d heard that. Asked if he couldn’t see how close J.R. and Babe had been these last few months, Adam said no, he couldn’t. Krystal was stunned when he admitted J.R. had been collecting evidence against Babe, and he said he’d felt terrible keeping it from her. He didn’t want anything between them but love, no lies and no secrets, and he had the perfect plan to get them to the point of full disclosure. Could she live with that much honesty? J.R. came in and told Adam he wanted to talk to him about something Dixie said before she died.
LEAVE HIM NOW OR DIE
Ryan went into the pump house, where Zach and Tad were already in place, their guns ready. They waited, but no one came.
Kendall was angry when Josh came to her about Babe, saying Ryan and Zach could die—that was much more important! After he left, Kendall received a note similar to the others from the killer, letters spelling out, “Leave him now or die.”
HELP ME!
In the parking garage, Babe thanked Zoe for helping. Zoe suggested to Officer Hannity that they get some chili fries; she blew Babe a kiss and said she’d see her soon. The guard, Max, held the passenger side door for Babe and thanked her for the job, saying the extra money really came in handy. He closed the door, and she buckled her seat belt. Babe realized he should have already gotten into the driver’s seat; frightened, she got out of the car and called for him. She was stunned to see him lying on the ground and rushed to him, “Oh, my god, no. Max, please. You got to wake up. Oh, god!” A hooded figure grabbed her, putting a gloved hand over her mouth, and Babe screamed in terror. She struggled with the killer, but couldn’t escape the syringe plunged into her neck.

Monday, February 12, 2007BABE, WE’RE COMING!
Babe struggled with the killer, but couldn’t escape the syringe plunged into her neck. She managed to push the killer’s hand from her face for a moment, and tried to cry out for help. Zoe and Officer Hannity heard something, and came running; Zoe called out, “Babe, we’re coming!”
The killer held a ribbon and dropped flower petals on Babe, who was barely conscious as she tried to plead for her life. Zoe and Officer Hannity found Babe and Max on the ground; Officer Hannity took off after the killer, but lost him.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN, HE GOT BABE CHANDLER?
At the station, Derek came out of his office and shouted, “Officer down!” Josh overheard a cop say it was Babe’s bodyguard and that sicko got her, too. Josh asked what he meant, he got Babe Chandler?
IT COULD BE A DIVERSION
As Ryan and Tad agreed the killer wasn’t coming and it could be a diversion, Tad got a call from Jack. “Babe Chandler just got hit,” he told Ryan and Zach.
IT’S A TRICK!
As J.R. started to tell Adam that Tad was the father of Krystal’s baby, Krystal rushed in and hysterically cried, “My baby! That killer got to my Babe Doll!” J.R. didn’t buy it, saying it was a trick and he wasn’t falling for it. After Krystal and Adam left for the hospital, Tad arrived and asked what he was doing there? Babe was in the ER and there was a good chance she wouldn’t make it. Realizing it was on the level, J.R. went with Tad to the hospital.
HE GOT BABE?
Bianca confronted Kendall about throwing her to Erica to get her off her own back, and wondered if she had taken Spike back to protect him, or to punish Ryan for having another child? Kendall suggested they fight tomorrow; she really couldn’t deal with this now. Told that Maggie was on a plane back to Paris, Kendall felt that Bianca had chosen Zoe; Bianca accused her of channeling their mother! Zach rushed in and held Kendall tightly. He told her the killer never showed; he wanted them out of the way. Bianca asked, “Babe? He got Babe?”
FULL OF SURPRISES
Erica and Barbara sparred, and Erica wasn’t pleased that her old foe was back in Pine Valley indefinitely. Sean came in, and Erica asked how his day was? He looked at Barbara and told Erica it was like hers, full of surprises. Lily came downstairs and told them she read on her news site that the Satin Slayer attacked again. They didn’t say who it was, just that the victim was at Pine Valley Hospital. Erica worried it could be Bianca or Kendall; she and Sean rushed out. Alone with Lily, Barbara got her to admit that Jack was doing a lot more work than usual since he and Erica split up, and he didn’t smile as much. Barbara thought they needed to come up with some creative ideas to help her dad relax and start enjoying life a little more. Lily agreed.
MY SON
As the paramedic wheeled her away, Babe weakly gasped, “My son.” Zoe told her not to worry, they’d save him together. She rode with Babe in the ambulance, while the police took crime scene photos of their fallen brother. Ryan and Aidan arrived, and realized the Satin Stalker was now killing cops, too.
ONE PRAYER ANSWERED
Janet told Babe she knew that Babe was family to her, so she would gladly do anything she could to help protect her. As they started to leave, Jamie got a call from Julia telling him about Babe. Janet said she was so sorry, and would say a lot of prayers for her. When Amanda promised to come back to see her, Janet called that one prayer answered.
I THOUGHT IT WAS A TRICK
When Adam and Krystal arrived at the hospital, Julia asked where J.R. was? As Jeff desperately tried to restart Babe’s heart, she floated somewhere outside of herself and remembered happy times with her husband and son. Zoe told Josh what J.R. had said to Babe about wishing she’d died instead of his mother, and how he’d tried to blackmail her into giving up her son. When J.R. came in with Tad, Tad and Adam had to keep him and Josh apart. Josh accused Zach of being responsible for all of the attacks, and said he should be in there dying instead of Babe; Kendall insisted it wasn’t her husband’s fault.
Erica was relieved that her daughters were all right, and agreed with Josh that Kendall had to get out of the country; Kendall refuses to leave Zach. Josh and Adam clashed over Babe, and J.R. told Jamie he thought it was a trick when he’d heard about Babe. Zoe and Amanda comforted each other and agreed Babe had to make it because they couldn’t make it without her. Ryan arrived and asked Kendall where the hell his son was? He insisted security wasn’t enough to protect him, citing Babe’s bodyguard winding up in a body bag. Aidan and Tad discussed Janet’s theory, and agreed anyone from Ethan’s past might pay off. Jeff decided to operate, saying they had to implant a pacemaker. Josh wanted to be in the OR, but Jeff wouldn’t allow it.
Erica hugged her daughters, and everyone waited for word on Babe. They all heard Josh shouting at Jeff, “No, don’t tell me that! Let go of me! You go back in there right now. You stopped! You didn’t have to stop!” Jeff dragged him out into the hallway, and Josh shouted to let go of him! He went to J.R. and demanded, “Are you happy now? She’s dead! Babe is dead!” J.R. called him a liar, and Josh lunged at him. Jeff held him back, and Erica urged her son not to do this. Josh told J.R. he should have let him die when he had the chance. He never stopped punishing Babe, and wanted to keep her away from her son. He congratulated J.R., “Thanks to you, her last days were a living hell!” J.R. asked if he wanted to stick it to him by telling him his wife was dead? He really was scum! His wife was a lot of things, but she was not dead! Josh lunged at him again, but Jeff shouted, “Enough!”

Tuesday, February 13, 2007MY BABE
When Jeff told her they'd done everything they could but Babe was gone, Krystal was inconsolable at the loss of her daughter. Tad told her she knew that he understood. She was there with him-did she remember? He had been looking at the same darkness, and she asked him if he wanted to quit. He said he did, and she wouldn't let him. She pulled him back, helped him realize that life was going to go on, and now he and Adam and that beautiful baby girl growing inside her were going to help her, because they needed her. Adam stroked her hair, and Krystal turned to him, allowing him to comfort her. Adam apologized to Tad for coming down so hard on him after Dixie died, and asked how he could take care of his wife? Tad said to love her and be with her; that was all he could do.
Krystal tearfully told Adam she needed to see her little girl.
J.R. thought about Babe telling him you couldn't replace one child with another, asking if he really wanted his two fathers at war while Tad was still grieving? Josh was livid when J.R. said he didn't want to see Babe, and shouted that he really had wanted her dead. Erica tried to comfort Josh, who accused her of not being able to wait to pop open the champagne and dance on her grave! He lashed out at her and his sisters, saying Bianca had refused to forgive Babe, and Kendall had chosen to stay with the man who was responsible for all of the deaths. He stormed out, and Erica went after him.
Ryan urged Kendall to leave Zach for her own protection, but she insisted she wouldn't turn her back on her husband. Ryan said if she wanted to stand by Zach, give Spike to him.
Joe brought Adam and Krystal into a room, and Krystal broke down as she saw her daughter. She called Babe her buddy, her best friend, her firstborn, and wondered what wonderful parts of her she would see in her sister, Charlotte. Telling her Baby Doll she would never stop loving her, she held Babe in her arms as she sobbed, "You were my joy. You were my greatest joy. My Babe."
YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE ALONE
Julia brought Amanda home, where Del and Di were stunned to hear that Babe was dead. Jonathan comforted Amanda, and promised he wasn't going anywhere. Del and Di agreed, they weren't, either. They were her family, and she wasn't going to be alone.
AT LEAST IT'S A START
When Jack said it looked like their killer was getting bolder and bolder, Derek noted that Raymond Jenkins, Kenny Adler and Zoe had been eliminated as suspects. When he added that Officer Hannity wasn't even sure if the attacker was a man or woman, Tad said that Jamie pitched an interesting theory, the mother of Ethan Cambias. What if she blamed Zach for his death and this was how she let him know it? He'd already made a couple of calls and learned her name was Hannah Nichols, but nobody could seem to figure out where she was. Jack thought it sounded like a long shot, but they'd better check it out. Tad said he'd give him what he had. It wasn't much, but at least it was a start.
IF I'M NOT THERE
When they returned to the suite at the casino, Kendall told Ryan she understood it was too dangerous for Spike to be with her. He could get hurt; she got the message loud and clear. She showed Ryan the note from the killer, "Leave him now or you die!" Ryan agreed to take Spike and protect him. Kendall asked Ryan if he would promise her that if she wasn't there, he'd tell Spike how much she loved him? Ryan promised, and Kendall tearfully said goodbye to her son.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND
Back at the mansion, Jamie asked J.R. what happened with Babe the night he'd dropped them off after the party? J.R. said he'd confronted her, and told his brother how she'd showed up with Zoe to get the goods on him. She wanted a divorce as bad as he did. She wanted to take Little Adam away from him. Then Josh showed up. She wanted to be civil about this. She said that they could handle these things like adults, but he was so pissed at her. He said that she was trash, and that her life wasn't worth his mother's. He wanted her to hurt as much as he was, take her son away from her and blow this family to bits, and he had the ammo to do it; he was about to tell. Jamie asked tell what? J.R. sighed it didn't matter anymore, and swore he never wanted her dead.
When Adam and Krystal came home, Krystal embraced J.R. and said she was so happy he and Babe had been finding their way back to each other. Babe loved him very much, and he had that to hold onto.
Alone with Jamie, J.R. asked if it was real? Was his wife really gone? He didn't understand.
BABE'S LIFE SHOULDN'T HAVE ENDED
Bianca cried as she told Zoe she never forgave Babe, and now it was too late. Zoe spoke of meeting Babe, and how she'd given her hope. Bianca asked what happened to that hope now that she was gone? Zoe didn't have an answer. Babe's life shouldn't have ended, "A woman like Babe should have lived forever."
I DON'T BELONG ANYWHERE
Erica went to Josh's loft to find him packing, and declared she would let him do this! She said that her whole life, people tried to tell her who she should and shouldn't love, but she didn't listen to them, she followed her heart. That's what he'd done with Babe. She understood that, and understood him. She was so sorry for the pain he was going through right now, and knew he thought he'd lost everything, but he hadn't. Josh didn't feel he belonged there anymore-he didn't belong anywhere! The only place he felt like he belonged was with Babe. When he was with her, it was like for the first time in his life, he finally felt like he had found his place in the world. And now that she was gone, he was right back where he'd always been, alone. Erica wanted him to give her, Jeff and his sisters a chance; he'd find that he wasn't alone. She comforted him when he broke down in tears, and asked if he'd stay? Josh kissed her cheek, and went to the door, turning back to say something but unable to do so, and left the loft. Alone, Erica cried.
