I was absolutely shocked that the guy from Borat beat Johnny Depp in the Best Actor in a Comedy category and extremely disappointed that Heroes didn't win anything.
I hadn't seen the majority of the movies, miniseries, and tv shows nominated so I really couldn't say who was most deserving to win in most categories.
I absolutely loved that everyone was dressed so nicely for the awards. I stopped watching awards shows for a long time because people came to them looking so scruffy, I didn't think ANY of them deserved an award!
I had noticed Prince wasn't there to accept his award for best song from "Happy Feet" but a short time later when Eddie Murphy won his award for "Best Supporting Actor" Prince was seated at the table behind him. The presenter later recognized Prince, said he had been stuck in traffic, and had him stand up but I still wondered if Prince had been there earlier but had ducked out when the award he was nominated for came up. He is notoriously shy and I don't remember him going up to accept an award in previous awards shows.
As for Sacha Baron Cohen's acceptance speech for "Borat", he could have quit with talking about his co-stars wrinkled "Golden Globes" in his face and not gone on to describe nearly running out of air except for the 30 year old pocket of rotten air trapped between that guy's buttocks during that scene. Way TMI! Ewww...

He wasted all of his time rambling on about that. When it came time to thank other people, the music started and he had to talk over it really fast to get them all in.
Everyone was dressed but some of them still looked awful, two come to mind; Cameron Diaz and the woman who accepted the award for best TV series. That grey dress was a monstrosity.
Hilary Swank looked very elegant head to toe....
